Wherever I go, there I am.
I guess my daughter's boyfriend bought an engagement ring. I assume it's for her.

She doesn't know it yet and I'm not supposed to know it yet but they are coming up here Easter weekend. I only have a small amount of time to sabotage this thing. Except, I really like him.
Perhaps send your daughter to the convent for a few years. She could announce it at Easter.

Or maybe suggest some contrived plot to him where he hides the ring in an Easter egg and then you switch eggs on him.

These are good ones but there is a little hangup with each.

1. They attend a Lutheran church so if you'd like to start a Lutheran convent that would be great.

Actually, I see no hangup with number 2. I'll just fill the egg with cat poo. However, since they have 3 cats between the two of them she'll probably think that's romantic.

The coyotes are starting to show up in the park reserve he often rides in.
Mrs. Velo and I went for a walk there last Friday. Our count - beyond the usual large number of squirrels, ducks, geese and other common small birds - 2 nesting swans, 1 deer, 1 sandhill crane, 1 weasel or river otter*. Still no sighting of our bear.

*We weren't sure what the mammal was but it certainly appeared too large for even a large long tailed weasel. It was also just a few feet from a good sized lake so that suggests otter over weasel.

Not a mammal. Probably a small crocodile.

Had a sad realization today. Went with my wife to see her mom at the care center. She doesn’t talk much so I quite often go visit with another elderly gentleman who went to our church.

Near the end, we were in the dining area and a worker was setting up the tables. She asked what I was with this gentlemen, I paused a bit and said I guess you would say friend. It was apparent then that only family goes to visit at care centers. I guess I knew this but you push it to back of your mind. I’ve always chatted for a few minutes with anyone who comes by me but remembered that I should try to make a few more trips just to break up their monotony.

Goes to my nieces worry that I will end up in a nursing home and get poor care because I have no family within 400 miles. She's a physical therapist and observes that patients without frequent visitors get observable lesser care. :(

My mother was semi-comatose for a number of years and her good friend, much younger lady, went and got a CNA to work their parttime to keep tabs on things. This gal was already working a full time job in a factory. About the best friend my mother ever had and maybe didn't know it at all.
