Got a notification about a "like" of one of my replies on twitter last night. Went to look at it; it was a reply to a post from Brock Purdy back in 2022...and the "like" was from Brock.
He was bored on a Friday night?

I should probably pay more attention to the weather forecast. Had garden work planned. Going to jack up and brace my old redbud tree that slumped down too low and blocking garden walk. Damn hot and humid. Will post later to confirm I DND.

Edit: That was a couple of hours ago. Forgot to hit send. Taking a break. DND. Wonder how old the bottle jack is that I am using?

I think my yard is the greenest it has ever been for the end of July. It was really dry up until the middle of June but since then we're been getting rain on a pretty regular basis.

Weirdly craving a cold piece of "birthday" cake. But, too hot to go to any store and get some.

If you ever get to the Saylorville township, there's a place called Spooky Acres that sells this type of stuff on the side of the road. Cash or venmo.

Friend called me up to ask if I could change a sparky plug on her Sonata for her. Car parts store said engine light was for sparky plug #2. Managed it without stripping any threads. Dad Boxster was a "If tight is good, tighter is better!" when it came to wrench work and that lead to more than a few stripped threads. I outgrow that later in life.

Not being my dad, I dug out my old Craftsman torque wrench. Additionally it amuses me when friends who are not "car peeps" think I am a "cars peep" for wrenching and knowledge. And I am really not! ;)

Sidebar: Yikes. The guy who did these plugs last must have over torqued the **** out of them. Did not actually have to put a cheater bar on the wrench but it was close!

Y'know, googling the address, I've driven past there many a time, but heading north, so I was driving on the other side of the road. I'm going to have to check that out.

Yeah if we're heading to Saylorville sometimes we'll swing thru there. Neat business for sure.

Watching the Hurricane Katrina: race against time shows on Nat Geo. How sobering, to say the least. So much that we on the outside had no idea about at that time.

Might have to give that a watch having worked some on the recovery/rebuilt for the flood damage reduction effort.
