Mailman was just at the door. Had a first class letter that had $13.13 due in postage. It was like a 5x8 envelope and was maybe twice the weight of an average letter.
UPS doesn’t charge that much to mail this stuff. I’ve sent things like this overnight for barely much more. There was already $1.32 paid in postage on it.

Well, maybe my theory the bathroom vent is the portal to the fly universe is incorrect. Kept door shut since midnight and no flies have portalled into the bathroom.
And only three kills in the rest of the house so maybe the fly tsunami is over.

I killed over 100 in something like 3 days about this time last summer. For every one you kill 2 more portal in from another dimension.
I paid it but there was a bit of a communication issue. Didn’t seem English was a first language. So I’m just going to go in on Monday and check.
The fly portal may have closed, only five kills for the entire day after 39 yesterday.
However, the bunny rat portal is wide open to the rabbit universe. Did a 2 mile evening walkabout through the neighborhood and spied 13 bunny rats. Two showed up later in my front yard. Got out the stinky Liquid Fence spray and gave the hostas a coating. Stuff is egg based but, man, it smells like liquid manure.

Last night I had a dream I was at a work conference. While there me and a few colleagues were having individual phone conferences with sales guys and regional directors. On one of our calls, we were talking to a regional sales director, and Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Apparently we were paying FDR as a consultant in the mid-Atlantic region. I remember thinking in the dream 'ok this is really weird I'm talking to FDR, I would've swore he was dead, but apparently not because he's advising us on the support needed to keep growing in that region. About 20 minutes ago I'm scrolling through the live TV guide on Hulu, and on Iowa PBS it's airing "The Roosevelts: An Intimate History" with a focus in this episode on FDR's New Deal and whether to run for a third term.

I hope you have an up to date mouse hunting license. Gov't is going to be cracking down on that this year. Make sure you tag it and take it to a reputable butcher too. Makes good jerky.
Walked into the Casey’s along Hwy 30 in Boone this morning on my way to see my mom. Cashier was smoking a cigarette outside. I get my slice of breakfast pizza and a cinnamon roll and was checking out. Cashier was breathing was a little labored he was complaining about all the smoke from the fires in Canada. I paid for my stuff and left shaking my head.
