“The way Coach [Matt] Campbell took time for me and my family to go over the plan he had for me individually and the plan he had for me being there and being on the team,â€￾ White said. “The way he thought that out and told us about the next couple years and how he’s expecting everything to change and expecting me to come up there and be a leader and expecting me to play and work my way up.â€￾ - Alex Halstead interview with Kam White, 2017 recruit

You weren't kiddin' about there being a plan, were you, Tolfbfan.

Like I said in the how many wins thread, I actually don't care about the wins so much next year; I am very impressed with the hard work and philosophical thought that Campbell puts into what he does. The results follow, but we can see a clear way of doing things.

Yeah, I just want to see improvement and the start of a program identity.

It looks like their recruiting identity is that they are going to use every tool available to them and sell their energy and vision for the future.

We'll see what their on field identity looks like this season. If they are devoted to running the ball like they planned, we could see some good things. Warren will hopefully be a happy boy this year.

love or hate twitter you can't deny it's importance in recruiting. Glad we now have a more modern staff that embraces all kinds of social media.

What convinced me to really make the trip was the coaches and how they talking to me on Twitter and really just showed me interest and how they really wanted me to come up there and see the facilities and check out the spring game and stuff like that.â€￾

We'll see how the product on the field is but Campbell is selling me on his rebuilding plan.

Clinton, MS to Ames, IA for an eighteen year old kid?

Let me know if I'm wrong but I'm picking up that you don't think this is a good move? have you been to MS lately? Seen any stats on the state of that state lately? It's a hellhole.

Just get their parents on campus. That wins half the battle right there. How could a parent not love what they see here on a visit? Safe, clean, centralized, bustling community involvement, fan support, low crime rate. Yep sign my future NFL son up for all of that.

Speaking of that I just saw something that said schools can now pay for parents or guardians to come on visits with the recruits. Huge news for ISU!!! This is something CPR was advocating for a long time.

Your right though, even getting them on campus is a huge move with some of the struggles that were stated by numerous previous ISU coaches when it comes to recruiting to ISU.

That's actually a big deal..btw..the next time Recruit X comes from Mississippi he doesn't have to drive...his parents will get free airfare and meals to travel with.

Might be surepsied how many kids just can't make it to campus cause their parents or parent can't afford a plane ticket(at least that's what we've been told)

Exactly. In talking to people Saturday, a lot of them were shocked that said recruit drove all the way to Ames from Mississippi alone. That told people said recruit is very serious about ISU.

Especially since he's wanting to do it again for a second unofficial visit.

That explains everything - how Campbell and crew don't appear to sleep, seemingly appear in multiple places at once, and have boundless energy and Twitter skills.

They are Cylons. There are many copies. And they have a plan.
