Removing the hillsides and replacing with seats wouldn’t necessarily add capacity. Plus if you’re spending that much on a structure in the NEZ, you should look forward.
You bowl in the north end zone for one of two reasons: to maximize revenue (increasing prices per seat) or to add more capacity. The former is antithetical to attracting younger alums and fans, and the other is adding capacity that's not necessarily needed and may not be down the road. University growth has leveled out. The attendance trends in college athletics generally trend downward (largely because of the younger, more fickle fans referenced above). In 2025, ISU might not have a conference affiliation worthy of its stadium.

And still, the NEZ could still eventually be bowled in if necessary. It's not like they're going to build the athletics performance center right where a new bowl would go. It doesn't appear these are mutually exclusive projects.

As I have said before the entire Clemson west zone cost less than 80 million which included finishing the west endzone, club section, club seating, regular seating. approx equal to our hillsides capacity in NEZ now, and a complete Performance center, not just the added upgrades we are adding to ours. Complete. You could do a lot in that end zone. But doubt it will be done. The hills need to go. The capacity does not need to change much. A family zone can still be added in the NEZ just like in KSt. I am one that believes you do it right the first time or you don't do it.

I have fond memories of the towers too but we sure as hell blew those bastards up. We still have plenty of.tailgating where kids can play around the stadium
