Way up there
How do you swallow jewelry?

Tongue rings? Lips piercings? Is there a rule against these? If so, its pry called the Rodman Rule.

I think its odd DH plays with a toothpick in his mouth but I wouldn't think the swallow risk would be any greater than chewing gum. If fact, gum would probably be easier to swallow.

The 1st I noticed it was vs Baylor in Ames last year. If Byron Hoston was still an opponent, pretty sure that tooth pick would get lodged in Dustin's cheek by a Houston elbow.
It may mean he has perfect body control, even his teeth, when playing.

In the other thread or an article I think he basically said that the toothpick gets soft fairly quickly, so it isn't as if he is running around with a fresh out of the box piece of wood. Still surprised that it is allowed.

Some celebrate with cigars. Houge celebrates in his own way after a win.

Pretty much this. As someone who has a habit of chewing on toothpicks, it's danger in being sharp lasts all of about five minutes. And he probably hasn't even started the game at that point yet. Then it's just a swallow hazard, which isn't any different than chewing gum, and probably less so. I often will tuck the toothpick up into my cheek. I'd bet he does the same with it during play.

Oral fixation crew checking in. I used to never be able to travel without a straw or pick in my mouth, or some sunflower seeds. My girlfriend even went as far as buying me a bulk pack of the little bar straws off Amazon. Never been a smoker btw.
