I don't want to paint with too large a brush but ya'll are dumb.

Has nobody on here ever heard a coach give an introductory presser before?
You know what, I don't think I've ever actually heard a coach give an introductory presser. Generally speaking, coaches are pretty boring.

Also, I am dumb.

It’s 7:30 am and I am loving all the Fred hate this morning. The lady where I often get breakfast said she hopes the traitor never wins a game. The lady co-host on the radio said she is done with the traitor for taking a job out west in a town named after a coin that most people throw away.
So glad to know that I am not the only one being small and petty about this, since I feel just like they do. Affirmation, a great way to start the day!

Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, I present Exhibit A...

Sorry for the length in advance.

In a vacuum I could hope that Fred does well at his new gig, but that isn't how it works. My biggest complaint is that we were finally getting out of his shadow and now we are seemingly back it in. That isn't Fred's fault but it is where we are at. Frankly I think it's a weird thing that so many people (local media) think ISU fans should be supportive of him. I actually appreciated Ross's take on Fanatics today stating that if he didn't have a radio show, he'd be the guy calling in to vent about it.

I don't doubt that Fred loves ISU, but he got exactly what he wanted out of us too. Just when it seemed like ISU was becoming a top 15 borderline top 10 program there was a foot out of the door. I get it the dream job was to be an NBA coach and dreams can change once you realize them, but it appears it was abandoned quickly. The easiest route for Fred to get there seemed to have been to go through ISU. If Fred wanted the job before McDermott got it, he didn't do much during that era to build the coaching resume. ISU's later desperation got Fred his shot. It didn't take long to parlay that into his dream gig.

He got run from that gig. Taking the cyclone colored glasses off for Fred, it appears that he doesn't have the reputation to name his next job. He could have sat back on his 5 mil he's guaranteed for next year to wait another 2 months to try for another NBA job (abandoning the dream quickly), but I think that he got feedback that NBA teams weren't interested as his name started being floated for college gigs immediately. Hell, ISU even did him a solid and gave him a platform to get ESPN screen time during our Baylor game. The way Hoiberg's name was leaked for Nebraska while they were still playing makes it seem like it was intentional to pressure some of the better college jobs out to make a move for Fred.

Once again, sorry for the length. I feel it's true that Fred loves ISU but at the same time got plenty out of us and fans don't owe anything to Fred, let alone a need to hope he does well at a rival. He could have done more than well here. I love that Prohm is our guy and look forward to Prohm and company out working Fred for the recruits we want.
"Sorry for the length" twice? If I had a dime for every time I've had to say that...

I'm going to give the insight from someone who didn't grow up a Cyclone, and didn't give two ***** about Fred until he was a Timberwolve, and then when I decided to become a Cyclone 20 years ago. (Crap I can't believe its been that long...)

Everything I know about him as a human is he's as good of a guy as there is. What upsets me as an Iowa State alum is that he basically used the job as a stepping stone, which is OK, but the way he left it stunted something that could've been truly great. The Warriors job when Kerr got it, the freaking Gopher job, and the well known rumors he was leaving KILLED the recruiting the last couple years. Its amazing Prohm was able to do what he's done with the hole we were in after the last guys graduated. I truly believe had he stayed, Coffee, Vaughn, Diallo, and a few others would've been Cyclones.

With that said, Steve Prohm is an incredible guy, loves it here, wants to stay here, and he can ******* coach. He's not perfect, but neither was Fred.

I wish Fred health and happiness in life. I also wish his NU teams lose every game that's not against the Hawks.

Vaughn would never have been a Cyclone. He silently committed here until Findlay Prep hired his handler as an "assistant coach," and funneled him to UNLV.

I honestly don't care much. I really don't see what the big deal is. I certainly won't be watching Nebraska games or fretting about it like some people in this thread will be.

Only time I will care is if he is playing ISU or a recruiting battle. Other than that, I couldn't care less about what Nebraska does in basketball.

BTW anyone see that Arkansas flew to Iowa to talk to Fran?

Very serious. Lol. Apparently the three coaches they have talked to are Fran, Little Pitino and Mussselman.

Well twitter reported Alford and Musselman, no word at all on Fran. Your source trolling you? Never pay his buyout and then there is the ‘fit’ part.

Saw it on Twitter. Can't remember who it was but it said that they called their source to see if the Musselman to Arkansas stuff was legit and was told Akansas had flown to meet those three and all are in play. Seems insane to me. Funny thing is, watch Barta throw more money at him and make his contract even worse.

In reality, in the future, my opinion is unchanged. I hope Iowa loses every game the play in every sport. I hope Nebraska loses every game they play in every sport, except when the play Iowa. Status quo.

The idea of a bunch of central Iowa media members driving 400 miles round trip to cover a Nebraska basketball press conference and ask questions about Iowa State ("What do you think of Matt Campbell?" "How are Iowa State fans supposed to feel?", etc.) is beyond embarrassing.
