If anything, this situation has shined a light on the importance of finding a good coach that wants to be here. So far, Prohm and Campbell have shown both of those things and I'm pretty thankful for that.

Other than that I'm tired of the Prohm haters with a constantly moving bar of success just out of reach, irrational and confrontational Prohm lovers, relentless and myopic Hoiberg disciples, and the surprisingly rage-filled Hoiberg haters. Things are not that bad. We have a great group of coaches, a great AD, and quite a bit of success recently in multiple sports. Life is good!

I enjoy the people that get to come in and tell everyone else how to feel. When you wake up to 35 different Husker football fans having GO BIG FRED on their Facebook page it is somewhat obnoxious. Remember 95% of Husker fans follow a different basketball team because they suck in Basketball.

..... If he really did want to leave Ames due to being in a "fishbowl", then I really can't blame him a ...

The media fed us the dream, f***ing hated recruiting, and the fishbowl. The only thing that appears to be real is chasing the money. Nothing wrong with that as long as we call it what is is.

We have 5 Sweet 16+ appearances in our history (1986, 1997, 2000, 2014, 2016). They have 0.

Main problem I see with this is some act like it's the absolute expectation to make a Sweet 16 when it actually means things went REALLY well for ISU occasionally.

Fred's success was historically good but apparently it changed history too.

Eh I've been told by sources outside the media the fishbowl thing was pretty real. Just lots of people treating him like he could do no wrong which is pretty true according to CF.

And didn't he actually say he hated recruiting? Maybe it doesn't seem so bad now after the way players treat coaches in the NBA.

Problem 1: You're on Facebook.

Problem 2: You're internet friends with 35 Nebraska fans.

The only reason anyone wakes up to that is their choice.

One funny thing to note is that each of our successful coaches since Johnny has made it past the first weekend exactly once.

Not really. Going 13-18 followed by a year in which some dysfunction led to .500 in conference play has some thinking it’s foretelling of future seasons.

Fans being disappointed isn’t a problem. Historically good success does tend to change expectations. By the mid 90s most would be trilled with a 7 win season. That grew stale under DMac. That’s continued despite the more difficult schedule, as 7 wins will bring disappointment to many next year.

If you think Freddy will not be a fishbowl in Lincoln, Nebraska, OK.
And if recruiting doesn't seem so bad after leaving Ames three years ago, it must not have been too real.
And if the dream is the NBA, why not look to go back?
All that is left is the money. Again, that's OK, let's just call it what it is.

Ever think maybe he's learned how to deal with these aspects since 2015?

And Lincoln won't be the same as Ames. He's not a legend in Lincoln.

I'm sure Freddy has learned some things during his stint in Chicago.
However, If he doesn't like the fishbowl, he hasn't learned much about that issue because Go Big FRed fans will be a fishbowl on steroids.

He is getting paid almost the same as Bill Self, Roy Williams and Jay Wright he just stepped into fishbowl. If he doesnt know that then... The 12 highest paid coach in D-1 and 2nd in Big 10 the expectations are Final 4/ Nat'l Title getting paid like that no matter where you are at.

This is BS. Husker fans packed their arena for a mediocre team this year.

Really dumb. And as par for the course for you, completely intellectually dishonest.

Mac could have kept on being the best of the bad teams in the big 12 for perpetuity, and people would have been happy to continue to go to Shreveport. Problem was he didnt do that.

It’s a **** argument. Try one time being better
