It kind of rubbed me the wrong way how he was using us to try and get a better deal from Phoenix. I'm guessing it rubbed some others the wrong way too

Ask any old timer who has been around Iowa State and they should know.I'm told it had to do with the old president and the chief fund raiser who are not here.

I am a long time Suns fan. It is pretty clear that Hornacek will be the scapegoat, but most long time fans know that the ownership group led by Sarver is the real issue. Sarver has turned a once solid organization which has been historically attractive to free agents into a dumpster fire.

Devin Booker is the only player on the roster with star potential. Bledsoe is hurt again and is as good as he is going to get. Knight could get better, but right now he is just a streaky shooter (unstoppable some nights, awful on others)

No quick fixes in Phoenix (although a lucky draw for Ben Simmons would help)

You did just sign Chandler and made a serious late push for Aldridge, I would say Phoenix is still pretty attractive for free agents. Sarver is cheap as hell and selling away draft picks and refusing to go over the salary cap at all during the seven seconds or less era probably cost the Suns at least one title.

Why don't you just tell us? Is it really that hard?

That is how this site works. People who think they are in the know post teasers like that and that is it. Making others think they know what is going on. In the end few really do or they would tell us. Most of the time the posters that do know what is going just don't anything on the topic or they tell the whole story.

Gee...it's like the NBA uses coaches like toilet paper.

The funny part is how little NBA coaches can really do in most cases. Very few carry the gravitas to have much pull...IE guys like Phil Jackson or Pat Riley.

I would toss Popavitch (spelling?) of SA on this list also.

I think it would be wise to find out what the university did to Jeff when he came back one weekend before saying anything about Jeff.

Did the university sexual assault Jeff? Seriously, I don't know what you're talking about, but I can't think of a single explanation where the way you worded this would be correct.

Small silver lining that I saw from the assistant shake up, a Storm Lake native has been moved up to a bench assistant.
No connection to Iowa State, but Nate Bjorkgren was on Nick Nurse's staff for the Iowa Energy, then became head coach of the Energy when Nurse left.

I'm guessing from toad's post, the allegation is they got him to come here for his HOF ceremony and then asked him for money.

I've posted on this in the past and don't want to be a name dropper or braggart by constantly bringing it up, but because of my dad's relationship to the Cyclone Club at the time I got to know both Jeff and Barry Stevens personally as a teenager. Barry remained close to my family and continued to stay in touch for several years, including when he played CBA basketball in Cedar Rapids. I last conversed with him by email shortly before he died.

Jeff drifted off, which was to be expected based on where life took him. I spoke to him at his HOF induction, introduced him to my wife and he autographed a picture of Barry and him at my house from many years ago. He was cordial but I got the impression he wasn't really interested in being there. Again, just one person's impression but I know it was echoed by some others at the time.

What on earth are you talking about? Bledsoe, Booker, Warren, Knight and Len all have potential to be great players. Bledsoe is putting up 20/4/6 and Knight is putting up 20/4/5. It's one of the best backcourts in the league. If they get rid of Markieff and develop Len better it could be a playoff team next year.

Great players = all star caliber, Booker has an elite "shot" to be an All star one day. Doubt any of the others will be. And every team in the league has good players who are going to put up stats when every team scores ~ 100 points per game.

This article accurately lays out the Sun's current issues:
