How annoying is the band?

Sights & Sounds: I’ve shared the arena floor with 22 different student bands over the past four days, but the Cyclones’ band was unquestionably the most entertaining. Their chanting at the opponent during free throw attempts showed impressive creativity. My favorite was “You’re shooting for a date to the prom!”, followed on the second free throw by, “You’re going to the prom with Minkus!” while pointing at one of their own band members who … well, looked like a guy named Minkus. A close second, presumably an Irish-specific creation, was “They’re magically delicious! They’re magically delicious!”

Enough said.

I thought the band was great. They were louder than an arena full of Ohio State fans for most of the game.

That's the point. The game wasn't over. If I was on that court it would've made me feel a lot better hearing the fight song and the fans cheering me on then everyone awkwardly standing around and leaving.

Which is exactly why the band needs to play the fight song. Just because they lost doesn't mean you stop cheering for them.

The band is a group of some of the biggest supporters of ISU athletics I've ever known! So what if they are creative. They are musicians, what do you expect? I can't believe any of you are talking about this after the most heart breaking loss in a long time.

Odd how people don't think the band should be a part of the game experience and help to do whatever they can to distract the other team when shooting free throws. Apparently, a silent building is preferable when the opponent steps to the line. If that's what you're really complaining about, maybe you should re-think why you're even watching or going to the games. Try having some fun for a change. The band is. And I can guarantee they don't give a rats ***** what you think about them.

I'm not anti-band and I think that they do a great job, but lay off the free-throw chants. Sounds like a bunch of highschoolers. Oh, and don't tell me how fresh and innovative it is...they've been doing it for 20+ years.

I can guarantee you some of the band members are doing stupid chants just to see you guys turn into whiny children over it. It's tradition at this point.
