There is a lot of good music out right now too.

There was a lot of crappy music for every generation. Zepplin is probably my favorite band ever, but let's not act like there wasn't plenty of Leif Garrett and Bee Gees to go around in the 70s.

For every Holy Diver, there is a You Spin Me Right Round.

It's funny you mention that song. The original version by Dead or Alive is horrible, just about unlistenable. Yet in today's sad state of music, a rapper with a clever name re-mixes it, adds a special guest vocalist (anyone else sick of every song released now using the term "Feat."), and all of a sudden, its great music!

Today's music is so bad they have to cover (remix) even the most pathetic music from 25 years ago.

Heard a cool acoustic cover of Number of the Beast by Zwan yesterday on Channel Q. Totally different spin.

Yeah....it's a B-Side to the Honestly single that band put out in 01, 03, sometime around then....and it is featured in the beginning of the movie, "Spun" which is killer.

There are TONS of great bands pumping out new music. Each Tuesday there is at least one CD that I would purchase with my own money (if I had to). You just have to actively listen/search and be open to new things....that's all.

Jon Miller, come on up and visit your kid sister station every once in a while and Daddy will make sure you leave with plenty of new music. Just make sure Perrault doesn't get any. The guy eats way too much bacon.

Thanks for the kind words, btw.

Tarbox-It would be nice if you wouldn't cut out sweet intros/solos/endings to songs. That's what has turned me away from 105.1 lately.

I'm a big fan of The Dead Weather's album. It's a little different from Jack's normal stuff but I like him focusing on the music rather than lead vocals.

Holy Diver...for some reason I like this song. I have no idea what the heck he is singing about with regards to riding the tiger...and I crack up a little bit because this was on Southpark once...

But I like how it sounds...next up on my download docket today (seriously): Iron Maiden's Run to the Hills.

I still really like this recent cover of that song.

Read a Paul Shirley column on Espn.com, he always is recommending some good music. Listen to Gaslight Anthem, Rise Against, or Valencia and tell me todays music sucks.

the Holy Diver cover by Killswitch Engage is absolutely sick. love some KSE
It was their final song at the Music as a Weapon show. Between that song and "The End of Heartache" being played as their last songs, I lost it. First time I had crowd surfed in 4 years. Awesome, awesome stuff.

Click on link below for some very high quality Black Sabbath video from a concert in Germany in June. If you click on all the related videos it's the full concert. Isn't Dio in his 60's by now?
