There are two calls (non-calls) I didn't care for:

The play that led to Naz eventually getting stepped on looked like a charge to me on McGary.

Also, when McGary "stole" the ball under the basket by hacking the rebounder's arm (I think Ejim's) and then ended up getting a shooting foul himself (where he missed both shots).

They did a great job overall, though.

I have always thought Higgins was an excellent official. But if you notice, that is also the very reason he is a part of a crew working in the Final Four.

"Hollywood" Higgins anticipated a foul being committed and blew the whistle on Niang in the game when there was no foul ... besides that I thought overall they did a pretty decent job.

Worst call of the night was when we were driving, our guy gets fouled, shots the layout 2 seconds later and they let it be a three point play.

I thought they did good.... Maybe I was just on cloud 9 at this point but when Ejim banked in that shot and got fouled, in the process did he not get an and 1 free throw???? I don't know if I was spacing out but I thought they went to a tv timeout at the foul and once they came back from the timeout, they gave the ball to Michigan to inbound?

Be Always vigilante. After KU got a four point play and all the other privilege and favoritism they have gotten over the last two decades I never would have thought the Big 12 good 'ol boys would have screwed Hoiberg and our school like they did last year....twice......but they did. They will do it again unless constant exposure and transparency is brought to bear of who these referees are and how they call games and what KU boosters they associate with. All the trends and statistics (minus garbage time calls....just the critical, game changing calls) showing how they favor KU must be publicized and repeatedly reported. I was glad they showed the Ohio State screw job last night highlight....but the KU job was worse imo. Bill Self's golfing buddies--aka the Big 12 refereeing crew-- will do it to us again.

Foul on Hogue away from the ball

Thanks for clearing that up. I was pretty much the only one around in my area in the stands that was wondering about that. Didn't know if I went off the deep end or what.

The refs missed a clear as day foot over the line when we were passing the ball in at the 2:05 mark. That would have been really bad because we were only up 1. They missed calls on both sides but it was even. Very solid game by Hollywood Higgins and crew!

Yeah, we benefited on the Hogue foul.

Looked like "Chuck" got away with a travel when he was trapped in front of the announcers table.

Niang was called for a foul as he was backing out and never touched the guy.

Mel got chopped pretty hard and it did get kind of physical at times under the hoop.

All that said, I thought it was as fair of a game as we could have had. It is still early in the season for the officials too.

Wasn't Higgins part of the crew that screwed us at KU on the dead ball basket?

Really not sure how it isn't even a foul when Lurch McScary plows over Naz and then stomps on him. He fouled quite often, think he was also involved in pushing Kane to the floor, and his fouls were always violent. Other than that, didn't notice refs much.

As you all know I'm normally pretty kind to the officials. While I generally have a favorable opinion of these guys I thought they looked in early season form and didn't have one of their stronger outings.

I remember thinking during the game, these guys are doing a good job, as long as they don't pull a KU or OSU at the end. Of course when we win it always seems like they did a good job.
