Thanks for announcing that to everyone. I'm not sure if I could have slept tonight without knowing why you haven't posted.

Since Angie said be nice, I'll end my post with that.

How pathetic can one be when a website forum has taken over so much of their life that they have to take a break away from it. These websites are for peoples enjoyment as well as to inform.

Just blows my mind that some people can get to that point with website forums.

We all have our passions. Some might consider $300 for a new golf club to be "pathetic" (as you so elegantly put it), others might consider restoring an old car to be a waste of time. I'll let him be the judge of where he choses to focus his time.

Hey all,

After doing some reflecting, I have decided to take a break from CF for at least a month, possibly longer.

I love the site, like reading everyone's posts (including those who don't enjoy reading mine), and have spent a lot of time on here in the past year.

I am going to spend more time writing on my blog (long overdue), and relaxing in my free time. It sounds silly, but it gets to a point where I stress about threads and posts on this site. I've become so emotionally invested in this site. When you start losing sleep at night, you realize it's time to take a break.

I feel like I've built a connection with many on here and just wanted to give people a heads up in case they notice I haven't posted in a while.

Thanks to the mods and everyone who's put up with me the past year!

Have a great rest of the summer everyone, and talk to many of you in September or October!

You stress about posts on a website? Yeah it is time to take a break then.

Definitely time to take a break if you feel that way. I love this site, I'm approaching 10k posts, but really nobody should be getting upset about anything on here.

I can't think of a more narcissistic thing in the world than to start a thread to declare your taking a break from a website. Like we all would have started a search party looking for you after a few days...

Frankly, I agree you need to take a step back. You seem to be at odds with more posters on here (fellow Cyclone fans mind you) than you are in agreements. That's wrong.

Personally I hope the break can give you some perspective and you can come back with a clear head and a fresh outlook.

I understand where he is coming from. Some people ridicule the extent to which he has taken this site to heart. Sure, it's a message board, don't take it so seriously....but it's a Cyclone message board. "Fanatic" is in the title. We are all passionate about the content on this message board and it's easy for some people to really take it to heart. Do some people bring arguments onto themselves needlessly? Yes. But we're all still real people with real emotions and I think some people lose sight of that a lot on the internet. FWIW.

My thoughts exactly.

This thread has truly inspired me. I too am taking a break, but not from CF. I find the following things too stressful and am giving them up: naps, movies, going out, friends, boating, skiing, and backpacking. Thank God I still have work and bills.

I agree, it screams "look at me" when you have to announce something like this.

This thread isn't really doing anything for anyone. We're going to close it for now.

i am going to continue to read/post on CF...

I just thought I would let everybody know that I have decided to continue to participate here at CF. I don't anticipate posting any more or less than normal. Just in case anybody was wondering...
