I joined up after Jamie called out that one kid for not buying tickets or donating at all to ISU athletics yet ******** at him. I think after this I'll be upping my contribution level.

And just so students know, the Gridiron Club has a student membership for $25, otherwise known as less than two cases.

After all this mess I did it. I logged onto Cyclone Club and printed out the form, wrote a check and sent it in.

I'd like to challenge any of you fans to do the same. We dodged a bullet this time, but without the upgrade in support we could end up on the wrong end of the stick next time.

If you're already a member think about upping it. If you're not a member, join. You can get in for $100 a year - that's less than $10 a month. You probably spend more than that on Netflix or gaming. Support your freaking teams! Wake UP!

Part of it for me is I just want ISU to continue to compete at the top level. I could not stand playing in the MAC or even the Mountain West. Even if we never reach the pinnacle I like the idea that we're at least on the radar screen and the POSSIBILITY is there. Look how close we were in BB ten years ago.

I had no idea we were so off the radar screen on a national level. All the radio call ins were sad. It's like we didn't even exist.

Let's crank it up a notch or two! We got two up and coming coaches in FB and BB and now is the time to give the Athletic Dept a boost.

PS: I am in no way affiliated with the Cyclone club - they haven't sent my membership info yet, LOL.
I did my donating yesterday. Also emailed JP and GG both and got emails back from each.

I just donated for the first time! Will they send out a packet with more info on the recognition stuff and the car decal, that kind of stuff? I didn't say anything like that after my payment went through.

I commited to $100 but I am going to up that to $500 now. Is the gridiron club the best way to go our should I do the NCC? Just looking for help.

I've wondered that too, whats the difference between the two?

You get more priority points for an NCC donation, which means more opportunities for tickets in all sports, as well as road games and tournaments. NCC funding goes to athletics in general, and I believe a significant percentage ends up as payment to the university for scholarships.

The CGC funds go directly to football, to be used for non-budgeted items (bringing in specialists, sending coaches to clinics, etc.).

Nicely done....and I know it doesn't seem like a ton of money but think about the possibility of getting maybe 5,000 first time donors at $100. I'd rather see that & then people bumping up a few hundred every couple years than HOPING for a major donor donating $500,000 one time!

Yeah, all that should show up in a few weeks (although I'm in Tampa so it took a couple extra days). It's actually a nice surprise, I'd forgotten about the donations (NCC, Gridiron & Wrestling Club) & then stuff just started showing up - it was AWESOME!!

No way! I'll have to check that out. I just bought my season tickets for football and men's basketball. I feel like it's a great time to be a Cyclone!

And everyone please check with your employer to see if they do a gift matching program! Some companies will match "charitable contributions" that get you access to special benefits because it is tax deductible for them as well. Where I work, they match the deductable portion (80%) of what I donate. So we give $555.56 personally, my employer kicks in 80% of that in my name ($444.44), and I'm a Gold NCC member. Your employer might not advertise a gift matching program, so be sure to ask your HR people - ours didn't make it well known, so I had to wait for a coworker to fill me in.

I just joined yesterday at the Cardinal level as my employer also does an 80% match.

If you work at Wells Fargo, they do match and their limit to matching in something like $6,000

Ditto- I made my first donation way back in the fall but I then realized that my employer also does the matching thingy and for just a few bucks more I got bumped from Cardinal to Gold. Its a win win. I get better seats and ISU gets more $$$.
