I like CBS better than ESPN and it's not close ...

Shulman/Bilas* arrogance has no limits
Wischusen/Fraschilla* Smuggness alert
McDounough/Dakich* Approaching Dickie V annoy-me status
Ravech/Vitale & Farnham* Please retire
Pasch/Walton Absolute worst
Benetti/Hummell I like Robbi but his voice maybe could be helped by a nose job
Schambi/Dykes As good a play-by-play guy as there is in the business.
Holthus/Sundvold I like this team a lot

I don't like how they put a stranglehold on any video coverage. The local news can't even cover it because they have a quota on the time they can show actual footage.

Even worse is that for the 2nd round games (especially Sunday) CBS carries 2 exclusive afternoon games and then buries the evening games on TBS and True TV... I'm a huge b-ball fan but the last several years I've completely checked out on those Sunday evening games and I imagine that CBS could drive better numbers if they cared to do so.

Yeah, I don't get what they're doing putting two during the afternoon on CBS and then a ton of games at night on the secondary networks? Maybe someone here can explain the marketing? Perhaps by Sunday, they believe we've checked out.

I liked Hummell early on but his overuse of the word "elite" ruined him for me. I only really like a couple of the ESPN teams, the CBS teams are better as a whole I'd say but that could honestly be just Bill Raftery, the man is a treasure! That guy will forget more about basketball this week than most of us will ever know.

My only gripe about CBS (b1g network does this too) is they don't show the teams records next to their name on the scoreboard. That's probably the only thing I like more about ESPN.

Also Inside the NBA is the best show on television, getting EJ, Kenny and Chuck involved was the best thing to happen to the tourney since it expanded to 64 teams (not a fan of the PIG).

Edited for factuality:

Wischusen/Fraschilla* Top tier, doesn't suck the Kansas wang and has known for some time about the shenanigans they get away with. Wischusen has a great play by play voice
McDounough/Dakich* Dakich is a Big10 homer and a troubled human being. Indifferent on McDonough
Ravech/Vitale & Farnham* Farnham and Ravech are just fine. Vitale's schtick grew old 15 years ago
Pasch/Walton Absolute best. Laugh about as much as I do at Chuck's antics, which is saying something considering Bill Walton knows almost nothing about modern college basketball. Perfect for the Maui setting but not for any serious coverage
Benetti/Hummell Indifferent. Kind of like Hummel, has good insight from his playing days
Schambi/Dykes Sciambi is fantastic, great play by play voice

I assumed the Sunday night Tru TV game was because they didn't want to completely wipe out their normal Sunday night schedule, especially 60 minutes. But yeah, I didn't like how you had one game (at a time) from roughly 11-4 and then 3 (at a time) to choose from after that. They could have had basically two options all day from 11 am to 10 pm.

Perhaps it's because I have grown so weary of Bilas preaching, Dickie V's yell, and Fran's smugness. The pro guys in between are refreshing as well. But I have always liked Barkley's humor and self-deprecating approach in that role. For you youngsters, Charles was a hell of a baller.

Bilas is a twat.
No one on planet earth can stand Vitale.
You're dead wrong about Fran.

And I'm reminded of the words of the sage poets, the Ghetto Boys; who once said...

Real gangsta *ss n*ggas don't flex nuts.
Cuz real gangsta *ss n*ggas know they got 'em.

To me, that's Charles. God bless him.

I find Francis quite smug. He probably fawns over ISU talent, Hilton magic, CSP's style, or something, making him a favorite here. I don't know. But I do know a lot of this is personal preference. And he's not my favorite. I did enjoy him when he actually took-on AFH cheating refs. But he's stopped that this year. Probably due to pressure from the mothership to not throw silt on their prime B12 asset.

I like Vital minus his Duke stuff. Guy really has heart and passion for the game. He is basically at this point playing a character of himself. He really was just an animated guy back in the day. Now he is just catch phrase after catchphrase. Kind of Chris Berman like.

I love Bill Raferty.

Barkley is great. If you have not read the story about Charles Barkley and the Chinese guy. You really should google it. Not sure if it was posted on Fanatic. It's fantastic story. Almost brought a tear to my eye

Shaq is awesome.

Oh and Bill Walton will make me watch a game of Austin Pea vs Jackson state school of science. He just kills me and makes me laugh. Plus, When he is super high. It's even better.

Lot of the other guys are hated but don't really stand out much to me. Bilas is Bilas. Don't hate him, not a big fan either

Charles was a baller. But his monologue describing Auburn's play using the word "we" about a 100 times was nauseating and unnecessary.
I find it refreshing. He doesn't try to hide his homerism like Bilas or Clark Kellogg or Herbstreit in football. They're frauds.

You know who Charles roots for, but he's still brutally honest in his analysis.
