For those interested, here is a pretty cool site showing Iowa State logo history. Look at all the alternate logos we had come to an end in 2007.

Iowa State Cyclones Logos - NCAA Division I (i-m) (NCAA i-m) - Chris Creamer's Sports Logos Page - SportsLogos.Net

Cool site. I didn't know that Walking Cy was a primary logo for 15 years!

Seems like we could be doing more with this:

That's a great secondary logo. Unfortunately now we have a beer-bellied "Bucky the Cardinal" logo as our secondary logo.

The following logo has actually grown on me a little, but I think it would have worked a lot better had they used the head from the whirlybird Cy instead of "Bucky the Cardinal".

I notice as the weather gets colder, the "old" logo stuff seems to come our more. I know I am one of these because it is hard to find warmer winterish jackets. Nike doesn't make one. Lightweight stuff but not really warm stuff like I'd like to wear to November games.

What is worse try finding a gold jacket. We had one of the golden rules games late in the year a couple of years ago. Couldn't find a gold jacket anywhere. Of couse I live in CR so it is harder yet.

I thnk people are willing, especially t-shirts, sweatshirts and the like but our options are still limited.

I like to occasionally rock my old Brett Meyer jersey, but that shade of red sticks out like a sore thumb in the Cyclone crowd these days.

I sorta hate red anyways, and love the cardinal color, so it was a good move imo.

As for the logo. I really like the I-State logo, but it had to grow on me. I really liked Tornado Cy, but my favorite of all is the old Tornado.

Tornado Cy on the helmet and the overall branding of that logo actually gave ISU some visual recognition within the conference. Unsure if they were terms of endearment or not but all of a sudden ISU was being called the Whirly birds...or birds in a blender.

Was at the game in Memphis. As most of you know, the fan turnout was amazing. That being said, when are some of our fans gonna invest in some new gear with the I State Logo? We all need to get on the same page. It's a new era in Cyclone football.

The I State logo sucks. Give me the Cyclone.

OMG OMG OMG - when did ISU stop using the lettermark as its primary logo?

But the reply was in reference to someone talking about the walking Cy logo as the primary, so...your point?

Like I said, walking Cy just doesn't work as a primary logo. It would make a great secondary logo, much like the Miami ibis.
