Alright guys. The overwhelming majority of us are supporters of what Matt Campbell has done with our football team this year from the talent brought in, to the team discipline. Now, it really PO's me when I see a twitter article about how Nebraska is in the hunt and Campbell is just gonna walk out the door. Thoughts?
Is it yesterday?

Enjoy the good times. Don't fret stuff you don't control. And don't be trolled so easily.

We're having a special season here. Enjoy it for what it is, even though it might just be the first of many if Campbell sticks around. Enjoy the now.

This is exactly right. Stop about fretting the darkness and just enjoy the light.

Campbell said it pissed him off when coaches called him after accepting the job and questioning what he was doing, saying it was a coaching grave yard, impossible to win there.

Now that he has thrown it in their faces, they are all calling for his poaching, towards *insert blue blood here*. They keep pushing him I think he will find it very nice and cozy in Iowa where people are real, and tell you how they feel, and would give you their shirt of their backs if you needed it.
Jesus, it's like there's a conspiracy, like cloak and dagger stuff to keep Iowa State down in football. It seems there is an overwhelming need by the powers at play to make sure Iowa State remains at the bottom.

Right now there’s more than 9,000,000 reasons why he’s here for a bit.

Nice try. Should probably take cornhuskers country off your profile if you’re going to troll. Piss poor effort

Did u guys know we have a game this weekend?? It's at home and we play a top 5 team.

You wouldn't know it with all these ******* distractions for our team and coaches.

Like we needed anything else in our way, let's just dump a week's worth of baggage on Campbell to help him coach the team for Saturday
Team and coaches aren't distracted

I think the it is the Nebby sportscasters still thinking that they can pull anyone into the job...from any Power 5 job. Those days are long over...bite the bullet Huskers...get a young aggressive coach that has a solid set of assistant coaches and start over. Yeah, the first year will suck and many players will depart...but those that stay will become your new core. But no, they will hire another 60+ year old coach stuck in the past just like them. Serves them right...

I will say, if I believed in conspiracies, this is the perfect one. Week of our biggest game of the year and the sports media starts throwing this kind of **** at the wall. It's got to be at least a small distraction at this point. If nothing else the questions aren't, "how do you beat TCU?" But, "where will you be coaching next year?"

As I said in another thread, it's disrespectful to our coaches, teams and fans. Why aren't they asking Gary Patterson the same question? He's not at a Big 10 or SEC school or with a traditional powerhouse. Why not ask Nick Sabah why he isn't moving on to a new challenge?

If even just a slight bit, this takes some focus away from TCU and that is ********* to do that to a team right now. Every year I get more fed up with sports and how our country treats them. We aren't a big name in a big market, it would make sense that the powers that be don't want us doing well.

Add to that, that we can never be the feel good story, we have to be the team everyone ***** on, weather we win or lose. It gets tiring as a fan. I hope the team can rise above this and use it as fuel and not a distraction.

Kirk Herbstreit and anyone else pushing this, "ISU is doomed" agenda can all go suck a big bag of dicks. Let them play football. Leave this ******** for the offseason.

Your first mistake was thinking an article on twitter has any merit.

If he leaves, he's left the program in MUCH better shape than he took it over, which is all you can ask for from a coach. At that point it's Pollard's job to make the right hire.

It is tough. You just need a guy who really buys into the program, and it looks like Campbell has done that. You look at Herman leaving Houston for UT, and it is easy to get some doubts (although Texas is one of his Alma Maters and ISU is a WAY better job than Houston). TCU has been fortunate that a coach like Patterson has bought into the program and built it into what it is today. I am glad that ISU is a contender this year. I have always like your fans and the atmosphere you bring. In my opinion, I think HCMC is there to stay.

Is Nebraska really even much of an upgrade at this point?

Exactly. There are probably a dozen or so schools I'd be worried about. Schools that could give him an offer he couldn't refuse money wise and a legit chance at a national title prestigewise. Nebraska isn't on that list. Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State, etc... schools like that are the ones that would worry me.

Indeed. The ones floated so far with immediate coaching needs -- Nebraska, Arkansas, Tennessee, maybe Michigan State but not with the way they are playing this season -- give you marginally more resources, more difficult rivalry games (though not more difficult top-to-bottom schedules), and much higher expectations and malcontent fans/media. They might be able to throw more money at their problems, but that does not alleviate yours as the coach.

Only three would truly worry me if Campbell is a smart man -- Ohio State once Urban decides to retire for good, Michigan if Harbaugh goes back to the NFL, and Notre Dame, though Kelly seems to have found his mojo again in South Bend. Campbell is Catholic, too -- he screams what the Fightin' Irish would look for in a humble family man of their faith. If those three come calling, I doubt we can hold him, but until then, I am going to enjoy the ride. If Campbell goes to one of those B or B+ programs instead of waiting for an A+ offer, betting on himself, then I am going to shake my head at the football move of it, same way I did with Fred to Chicago.
