If Big 12 expands to 12, who do you pick if ACC is off the table?

I think i read they voted against the new exit fee. I'd be interested in the legality of that, can a conference just vote to say 'nope, the fee to leave is eleventy billion' whenever they know a team might leave?

It would be tough to hold them to that fee if they voted against it. If FSU is going to happen, it will have to be soon. The longer they wait, the stronger the case against them it would seem. Fee is over the top. But I don't sense the momentum within their alumni right now.

Why would we care what size Cincy's stadium was? A school could have about 12 seats for all we care, as long as they deliver tv viewership. We don't share gate, so a team's stadium size is pretty irrelevant.

Except when it comes to Jack Trice evidently as whitnessed thread after thread on here. Just saying. Why would the size of the stadium matter at ISU but not anywhere else.

With 11 teams, you can play an 8 game schedule instead of 9. The 9 game conference schedule is NOT GOOD for Iowa State. If you think it is, ask PR what he thinks. He wants 8.

If you assume the ACC teams don't leave, what two teams would you choose and why to get to a 12 team conference? Top options would include:

Louisville
Cincy
BYU
UConn
Rutgers

Wait, those are the "top" options? I'd hate to see how ****** the bottom ones are.

9 is here to stay. You decrease the number, you decrease the amount of quality games ESPN/ABC/Fox can show. Not going to happen. Get used to 9.

JT expansion matters to us. It doesn't matter at all to the conference how big our stadium is. We could have 500,000 seats, and fill them every week, but if we didn't drive any more tv viewership than we do now we still wouldn't be worth much in the conference realignment scenario.

Yep, i would like 8 too, but every comment i've heard from those that matter pretty much says 'even if we expand, we're probably sticking with 9 games, and may not even have a conference championship game at 12' (which would be fine, btw. you'd only miss 2 teams a year, no different than the big 10 playing 8 games with 11 teams for 20 years)

If we add 2 teams, we get 4 non-conference games (easier road to bowl game) and a championship game (more money) right?. CPR would not be in favor of adding two teams if we were still going to play a 9 conference games and not having a championship game.

It does not matter, we will never see 8 conference games ever again. There is a reason the big ten is going to 9, and on top of that was trying to schedule series with the PAC 12. networks want to broadcast quality games and will pay more money for them.

Probably USF, I'm surprised nobody mentioned them. Rutgers would be ok maybe but I think they really want the B1G someday.

If we have to expand, I'm old school and believe conference members should still be contiguous. I'll throw out two names not mentioned; Colorado St and New Mexico. Both have the size and finances to step up to the big leagues. Good academics.

Some stats.
