Remember the basketball tournament, there is always one team that goes out and wrecks the bracket. I hope the committee is setting themselves up.
But losing to Vanderbilt and Oklahoma is no big deal. If Alabama gets in people should riot.I’d love to share in the outrage, but our conference mostly **** the bed in the nonconference. We specifically are getting punished for losing badly to 3-6 Kansas. If the Big12 wants to change the narrative, gotta win the games.
I get your point, but we wouldn’t play either of those teams in the first round. It will be Penn State, Notre Dame, or TexasGuys, the point isn't that. I even said so in the bottom of my post. The point is that there is no point in trying to use logic and the committee will be contortionists cherry picking stats to support their biased decisions. It's just fun catching them in the catch 22.

Because they know with absolute certainty that Clemson will get that spot. The way the game day crew is talking, they’re basically saying that if Clemson wins they will just take SMUs spot in the first round bye. They are completing ignoring that if smu loses that the big12 would get that spot.

He was not wrong, the committee is using total wins for schools like Boise, but then change and use SOS for teams like Alabama. That is what Pollard was complaining about early this week, just decide, is it the total wins or is it SOS which is important. But we all know the committee will never have set rules, because if they did, it would hurt the SEC, and they will never allow that to happenACC commish didn't mince words on his Gameday interview.

fat chance. this is about money. clemson is a brand. isu is not.I was watching Josh Pate and he mentioned this potential scenario which I hadn't thought about.
With Boise winning and if Clemson beats SMU, does the B12 champ stay higher than Clemson and slide into the top 4 and get the CFP bye?

A #16 team beating a #15 team just means the winner gets to #15 and the loser falls about five spots, if they’re Big XII teams.Because the Big 12 won't.

A #17 team beating a #8 team is worth a bump to #14, if you’re Clemson. (They can’t go higher because they’re not getting into the Alabama/Miami/Ole Miss/South Carolina clump - so I guess SMU has to drop to, what, #16?)
A #13 team beating Mercer is worth a 2-spot bump, as long as you’re Alabama.
A #23 team losing means you stay put at #23, if you’re Missouri.
But yes, the committee’s ranking standards and qualification criteria are clearly defined and totally unbiased.
