When was the last time an Iowa State Head Football Coach left for a bigger program? I can't think of any maybe Johnnie Majors?
How soon we forget. Remember C.E. Woodruff? Me either. But he gave us his all in the Fall of 1900. In his one-year tenure, he produced a record of 2-5. They would have had better results, but in five of those games, they played an opposing team. Anyway, the following year he moved on to Michigan...the state. He never coached again but was content to raise oxen outside of Kalamazoo. But, had he chosen to stay in coaching, he no doubt would have ascended to higher ranks.
