If Mizzou crawls back...

If you ran the Big 12 and Mizzou wanted back in, would you tell them:

  • No way...GTFO.

    Votes: 22 16.2%
  • Yes, let's hug it out, b!tch! Now sign the rights deal.

    Votes: 114 83.8%

Is there anyway we could give them less than equal revenue sharing as a slap on the wrist? I wish that we could just replace them if they do not want to be committed to the Big 12, because there are other schools that would be happy to be in their spot.

If you believe (like I do) that ISU will remain in an AQ conference with conference partners of similar status and distance as the old Big XII then Missouri leaving is inconsequential. The drama from the top down a Missouri is embarrassing and I just want it to end, preferably with them getting what they want - a nearly endless stream (save aTm) of *** kickings on the football field in the SEC. There is no reason to believe that Missouri will have greater success in the SEC than in the Big XII and in case you hadn't noticed Missouri has the fewest Big XII titles. If Missouri wants to p*** on 100 years of tradition that's their problem.

I am sick of hearing the Big 10 wants ND. Well good for the Big 10 because they will never want you. NEVER according to their insiders. As for the national appeal for Mizzou they just dont bring it for the Big 10. ISU and Mizzou get into the Big 10 as filler teams. Big 10 already has the St Louis market because of Illinios and the KC market because of Nebraska. Mizzou plays 3rd fiddle in the state.

What insiders do you know that have said they don't want the Big Ten?

Hypothetical situation...if Mizzou, well, pulls a "Mizzou" and somehow manages NOT to go to the SEC, they'll probably still want to stay in the Big 12. If you ran the conference, would you tell them:

1) No way, GTFO.

2) Yes...let's hug it out, b!tch! Now sign the rights deal.

(sorry if this doesn't post as a poll...it's late and I have no idea what I'm doing!)

Unfortunately, if Mizzou was declined by the SEC, Texas will be more likely to not negotiate in good faith. Since Texas wants to be independent without actually going independent, then the conference should force them out if they will not give up TLN.

The problem I have is Mizzou will ALWAYS be looking for the better deal for themselves. Much like a pathological cheater in a relationship - they'll never be committed to the Big XII.

That's why they've gotta move on...

I do not think your analogy is accurate at all. They just want a conference that is stable for the long term and they obviously do not feel that way with the Big 12. You need to admit UT is the problem, no one else.

To crawl back the school would have to leave in the first place.

If Mizzou leaves it seems like it will have the same feeling as when Colorado left, as in, who gives a ****.

This big TV deal that the Big 12 is ready to agree on still gives Texas all of the revenue for the Longhorn Network. So Texas still has the advantage in revenue.

Texas could give us all the money from the LHN and they would still have an advantage over us in revenue. Heck, they could probably throw in all their tier 1 and tier 2 money and still be ahead of us in revenue.

DP and Mike and Mike have had a handful of ND reporters on their shows over the past month and half. All have said no chance ND ever goes to the Big 10. They have said if ND would join a conference it would be the PAC 12 to further nationalize their brand and be in a conference with their number #1 rival. But hey what do they know?

LOL aTm got a huge thread dedicated to them, Missouri gets a tiny one started by their own fan showing that people really don't care about them. Show's how much you mean to the big12, now do us a favor and quit ruining everything.

Make them sign the 13 year rights for marriage prenuptial - that will silence them. Their roving eye next year will be no longer. Hey, we just need to start the B12 Mizzou Network to make them happy.

It is interesting that ISU and Mizzou are unencumbered for their moves but OU has ODSU and UT has TnT for yokels around their necks. ISU and Mizzou has better academics than those two combos.

As far as respect goes, the longer MO devolves to a lower level, the more respect she loses. It is like the gal who has good looks and yet continues to flirt with the repairman in the bar. She can do better.

The problem is other than basketball/football games they will need to have the remaining time slot devoted to explaining that they are still in the Big 12 and not the Big 10 or SEC, Nebbie, Colorado, and aTm are no longer in the conference, yes they have their own network and texas does not get any money from it, and no this is not a joke.

It would be foolish to tell mizzu off.

There is too much history, and rivalry between Iowa State and the tigers.

They will have to sign all of the necessary agreements, and then we need to stablize the conference for the long haul.

I don't blame mizzu at all for examining what their options. But leaving for the sec is completely illogical. You don't fit culturally, geographically, academically, etc in that conference. aggy doesn't either, but they are pretty insecure about themselves.

I just don't understand the desire to diminish all that has been built by Pinkel for the sake of sticking it (or emptying your bowels) to UT.

Nothing more to say, imho.

You have no idea what youre talking about, ever. The big 10 has neither of those markets you stated. And your rationale for why they allegedly have them is idiotic. Lincoln is 200 miles from KC. And KC is a big XII town through and through. 95% of KC is either a KU, Kstate, or Mizzou fan. Hence the fact the big XII tournament draws so well there. And as for Illinois and St. Louis, uh yea, also nearly 200 miles distance there. STL is a pro sports town and mizzou fans.

Seriously, do u consider davenport to be a suburb of Chicago? Does ISU have the Rochester MN market?

SE Nebraska is actually much closer to KC, NE Kansas and NW Missouri are completely Husker country. Not saying Nebby has the KC market on lock but they have a good share. There are more Husker fans in the KC/St. Joe area than Kstate fans.

Someone needs to remind Missouri that they are Missouri, not Duke and Texas. Kick em to the curb and send them a lesson.

Another one trying to claim that the Huskers deliver KC? The Huskers are at best number 4 in the market behind KU, Mizzou, and KState. At that point, they are in the mix with OU, ISU, and Iowa from what I notice around town.

The Big 12 tourney is in KC. When ABC has a regional Big 12 game and a regional Big 10 game at the same time, the KC market gets the Big 12. The B1G Network is on the sports tier in KC, not on basic like it is in B1G markets. The town has hosted several Big 12 Football title games, and used to have the conference headquarters.

Now please, do go on telling me how Nebraska delivers this market. Give me a break.

Never once said that, but the KC market isnt just KC. KU/Mizzou collectvely give the area to the big 12 but there are lots of Husker fans in the I-29 corridor. Kstate brings nothing, the are as relative to the KC market as ISU is to the Omaha market.
