I'm going to be optimistic.

now that ive had alittle time to let it all sink in, I think next game we will look a heck of a lot better then we did today. mangino and the entire offenses first game under a new system. still not fan of the ugly screen passes but they did manage to look competent for a little bit before the wheels fell off. fine tune some things especially in their "special run stopping package" we will be fine...or atleast no worse than last year.

And last year was fine?

We looked great for the first quarter.

Thought you were maybe the mod who deleted it. IDK who the mods are that are online and who deleted it though I guess questioning the QB competition after 35 unanswered points to a 1AA is banworthy though so I'll cease and desist.

I'm not a mod, I don't know why your thread was deleted.

no last year sucked pretty good. but bringing in mangino and a few new coaches with a few months to develop pretty much the exact same kids who had that crappy season last year cant fix everything all at once. we cant just expect everything to run perfectly the first go. it may end up a gigantic mess in the end. but im gunna give them a chance before I dig into them anymore than I have already.

if football were a 15 minute game this would be meaningful. You may want to take your cardinal-colored glasses off for a second and take a realistic look around. Look at the numbers submitted in another thread, they are not pretty.

Maybe tomorow I'll be ready to believe again that we will get better and wild predictions of beating Oklahoma aren't so wild. But tonight I'm still stinging from the fact that we've now had our two most embarassing opening season losses maybe in Cyclone football history. And I didn't see much today to make me think this year wont' be like the last. Sure hope I'm wrong. I just don't understand how losing Farniok could completely shut down our offense against an FCS team.

You must not be very old.

Tough to be optimistic right now. I'm hoping that yesterday was rock bottom and they'll get better starting next week, but I'll have to see it before I believe it.

I won't throw in the towel on the whole season yet - bad days happen. But there's plenty of room on the bandwagon now, and with another embarrassing loss next week it'll be totally empty. I know coaches hate when people throw around phrases like "referendum on the season" or "the most crucial game in the Coach X era", but I believe that's the situation CPR is in this week. Judging by the postgame reactions here, the fanbase is no longer buying what the program and Pollard are selling. They need results in the form of wins, and it starts next week. Win, and it buys a little time and patience. Lose, and whatever support they still have from the fans totally dries up.
