I'm thinking Final Four

They also have great chances, as do we. I'm not saying we have the best chance, but that I like our chances. Also, so many of those teams don't play the caliber of teams we do. The MVC, SEC, and Pac 12 are terrible. ACC is as down as it's been in a long time, and the Big 12 is the best conference, so we're going to have more losses, but will be more tested.

The Pac 12 will get as many teams into the tourney as the Big 12 will. Just an FYI.

Keys for having a deep tourney run are getting at least a 6 seed so we wouldn't have to face a 1 or 2 until the 2nd weekend when they've already had 2 chances to maybe get knocked off (or better yet top 4 and play at worst a 5 or 6 seed in the 2nd rd).

And second of all getting lucky with matchups and opponents getting knocked off. Every year there are teams that make it farther than they should because they are lucky enough to play a 15 or 12 seed in the round of 32.

We are talking about an Iowa State team that just got curb stomped by West Virginia, right? Go play Wyoming at 7,300 feet of altitude and see just how fast Iowa State runs at the end of the game.
SDS never looked comfortable in that game. The game was not fast paced either. Arizona did not look so hot tonight either. Thinking Florida and Syracuse and Wich State are better teams right now.

Ok. I think I'll go ahead and take Wyoming at any altitude vs any other big xii team...ever...anywhere....like in history, ever...

You can do that when you play in a conference where all you play is bad teams. They are a really bad conference. They've had one ranked team throughout the season. Arizona will only have played 1 ranked team (Duke) the entire season, compared to our 16 games against teams that have been ranked.

I wouldn't say you have an outstanding chance, but definitely a chance. There's a lot of parity this year and a lot of teams that have legit chances of making the final 4. It's mostly going to come down to what the bracket looks like and who everybody faces. There will be a 3 seed lose this year in their first game and I wouldn't be surprised to see a 2 seed go down either. With a bad first round matchup I can see you going down in the first game, but with good matchups, making it all the way to the Final Four. Same goes for Iowa. All year long we've been hearing guys say that we can make the final four, but watching the first 35 minutes of this game against PSU, I'm not seeing it.

Let's see what the bracket looks like first.

Looking at Lunardi's bracket I can see you guys easily winning your first game, getting by St. Louis in the second, but losing in the Sweet 16 to Syracuse. Syracuse would currently be my favorite to win the title, that defense is tough and they're playing really well at the moment.

Iowa I can see losing their first game against the winner of the WVU/G'town game, but if they make it past that game I can see a final 4 run happening. Beat Cincy in the second round, I think they can take Wichita State in the sweet 16, then facing tOSU, Michigan, or Kansas in the eight. If it's Kansas, I think that is where the run would end

Bump for proper perspective.

Not sure where you're going with this, but if you think that game changes anything, we just beat a well-coached team that's beaten OSU and OU in the last week. If you're saying that it helps prove that we can beat tough teams that bring their "A" games, then I agree.

That doesn't mean tech is good. They aren't.

This team could do anything from losing the 1st round to make it to the final four. The same can be said about Iowa. You just never know what team is going to show up.
