Trade secret? He could tell you but then he would have to kill you.Great quality shots. How many did you take to pare down to these?
Wesley has a good eye for the total minutiae of the game. The pic of the FB player signing the little girl's cast is really cute.
Just curious. Didnt know if he took 200 shots and these are the best ones, or if he does a rapid shutter and take 1000s. Digital has really changed the way people take photos. He appears to be very close to the action in some of these, so i imagine he has a lot of times where people aren't centered like he would prefer, or maybe he edits them all to recenter stuff. He has some great stuff. I never have done much sports photography.Trade secret? He could tell you but then he would have to kill you.
Great shots Wesley. The pic of X as he goes in for the called back TD, clearly shows the 'taunting'. Now I'm OK with the penalty.
Love the pics of George leading the postgame song and cheers!!!

Well you do great work Wesley! Do you mess around with photoshop/lightroom or other photo editor(s) for fine tuning lighting, color, etc.?I normally end up with about 750 shots per game including pregame stuff. I try to shoot every single play and most plays I end up with nothing good. I also get faked out plenty, I followed Breece on one play yesterday thinking he had the ball and it was a pass to the other side and I missed it completely.
I almost exclusively use center point focus so typically I will have to crop my image to suit me. I like to have the opposing team in the photo when I can and also give the ball carrier room to run. So if a player is running left to right I like to leave empty space on the right so it doesn't look like he is running into a brick wall.
But to your point about digital, it sure is nice not to have to worry about conserving expensive film. Plus, I have a horrible habit of bumping into buttons I shouldn't and accidently changing settings and with digital I know right away what I screwed up. I have tape over the autofocus/manual focus buttons on my lenses to keep them on auto but yesterday the tape fell off of one of them and I was constantly hitting that button accidently. I usually noticed it right away but still probably lost some shots due to that.
