He was contacted by UCONN after they whiffed on their two top PG prospects (Knight and Selby). Colvin was contacted by Beau Archibald (brother of former ISU assistant Damon and director of basketball operations at UCONN) shortly after he was granted his release. This makes sense I guess since Kemba Walker said he was coming back for next season but its unlikely he stays for his senior year which means Colvin could sit out a year and start once Walker leaves. Also, Archibald recruited the Chicago area when he was an assistant at Florida Atlantic. Did some research and UCONN was in Colvin's final 3 according to this video (1:40 mark) [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xv_tutL8bc0]YouTube - PG Chris Colvin chooses Iowa State[/ame] I didn't want to believe this because I think the guy is a stud, but I see this turning out like Wesley Johnson's situation. Watch that whole clip---sounds like his "family" has the influence on him much like WJ's did....

I don't give a roody poo if people cry and moan that there isn't a link for this but it makes perfect sense...

Colvin is friends with Darius Smith out of Chicago that is at UConn. Smith for the most part hasn't lived up to his billing at UConn so far and was thought to be a potential transfer candidate by some. Smith is the same type of guard as Colvin

Oh good, another talented young player transfering from our program to a Big East program. I've seen this before...

CC probably planned to transfer back in Jan and just waited it out. He must like Big East style of play.

Good for him. I honestly hope he finds a place that fits him and he succeeds. I'm not one to hold a grudge over someone leaving. Everyone deserves a chance to be their best and enjoy playing. Yeah, it sucks listening to ESPN talk about "ISU transfer (fill in name)" but in the end who really cares.

I agree. I hope he does well to. You can't blame anybody for not wanting to play here. Hell, i grew up a Cyclone fan, and said if I was ever a McDonalds all-american type player I would go to ISU no matter what. Not a chance I would play for GMAC.

Scotty Christopherson - Marquette transer - hits a huge three to ice the game over the Kansas Jayhawks!

We have a chance.
