When Nebraska joined, their division was Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Nebraska, Northwestern.

Now they lost Michigan and Michigan state from their division and added Wisconsin, Purdue and Illinois. Seems a bit lackluster.

This would be more believable if it was Texas that was leaving and Nebraska partnering with Oklahoma.

While I have many fond memories on the Big 8, OSU playing Nebraska is not one of them. Good grief, they beat the ever loving crap out of us. That said, Lincoln was a great place to watch a game and I think we would KICK THE CRAP OUT OF them now.

This is strange. This story is gaining traction and articles for / against in many "legit" sources. Why this rumor, out of all of these rumors, gaining so much momentum?

We should add them and Houston
I would still like to know what benefit Houston brings the current members of the conference. How many people are suddenly going to be more interested in the conference with the addition of Houston? This does next to nothing in terms of TV money. So if Houston becomes a long term power it probably just happens by taking recruits from the other Texas schools. A Texas-centric conference already collapsed because it couldn't get a TV deal.

The complaint I've heard is how crappy their home schedules have been.

Look at this year:

Fresno State
Wyoming
Oregon
Illinois
Purdue
Minnesota
Maryland

With the exception of the Oregon game, that is maybe the lamest set of games possible.

I'll play along...

My wife's college roommate's sister's brother in law is a radio host in Bozeman, MT. He spoke to some people from his church who drove through NE on their way to Washington D.C. who said they spoke to the assistant manager of the Runza in Sidney that said Nebraska was unhappy in the B1G and they were going back to the Big XII, money be damned.

Sounds creditible to me.

I didn't know there were Runzas in Australia.

Don't want NE, but doesn't matter since the B12 will stand pat. The two they should add though are Houston and Cincy.

What nonsense. There is no chance in hell Nebraska wants anything to do with the Big 12. any administrator that would even approach that issue would be run out of town. They are set for life in the B1G.

Nebraska next season starts taking a full share for first time..it would be a monumentally stupid move financially to leave now..Heck as it sits it will take until 2025 from the time they left to make up for what Iowa State makes even. Because Nebraska hasn't gotten a full share yet.

Seeing a lot if tweets from so called insiders that Tx/OU is going to walk and it will be sooner rather than later and the conf is working out a new deal to eliminate the current GOR and allow the remaining 8 members to survive at least thru 2030. Things are not looking good folks..at all. There is just simply no way I see a good outcome for ISU if Tx and OU bolt..People can talk about PAC 12 or ACC all they want I just don't see any way that those conf take a really bad ISU football program with no eyeballs...just not seeing it. I see a lot on here and elsewhere fully confident that ISU will be fine...not me..I'm really worried for our Alma Matter.
