I always thought Stoops was happy to retire, exceptions being Ohio State, Notre Dame, Chicago Bears.

A) no one knows what Campbell will do

B) I’ll be shocked if Bob Stoops isn’t the next head coach at Iowa
Stoops retired to spend time with his family. Stoops is hurting for nothing but multiple national championships. I’ll be shocked if Stoops ever sets foot in the state of Iowa again.

If hokfan is excited to tell you that cmc is going to tOSU, that just provides 1 more piece of evidence that they are little brother and their game with us is their superbowl. Why would you want an amazing coach to leave one conference to join yours?

Seriously? Earl Bruce, but he passed away earlier this year. The other guy must not have realized that.

I thought Earl Bruce but knew he’s deceased
(Ahlzheimers). Maybe there’s a medium that has had contact with him

I do think Campbell is on OsU's list should Urban leave, but I don't think he's the top choice. They likely could get just about anyone they want, and I think they would be more likely to pick someone more proven than a guy who hasn't won more than 7 games at a P5 school yet. I don't say that to down play CMC's success here, because what he's done in 3 years is nothing short of spectacular, but there's still a degree of risk with him compared to other potential hires, especially when you factor in the amount of money you'd have to pay him including the buy out should he leave this off season

Nebby hired the guy from Washington who had never won more than 9 games and it didn't pan out well. I realize Campbell had success at Toledo but if they are paying attention I think they would wait to make sure it is lasting. The fan base might even look at the fact Campbell is still using some of Rhoad's recruits. He is not using many but these are tOSU fans and they know their football.

Just reached 17-17 at ISU which is phenomenal considering what was here when he was 0-0.
