On this weekend every year we have to be a lot of fans' "second" favorite team - that includes fans of Nebraska, USC, Florida, LSU, Texas, basically, every fan that's ever had to deal with an Iowa football fan at a football game.
That's because the Iowa Hawkeyes don't lose football games. EVER. They always get screwed or get unlucky.

SOMEONE has to make sure people know they are in Ames, not Iowa City (other than the fact that there aren't as many bars as 21 year olds here....)
Yes, they made an impression. The main point though, is that either from what they've seen first hand, or what they've seen on the internet, it seems to be equivical. IMO, the quote I pointed out from that entire thread is the most relevant. It's hard to discredit that a majority of Iowa fans believe they're on the same level as a national powerhouse, hence the belief that they can drop ISU for a home and home with USC, Florida, Miami, FSU, Nebraska, etc. on a regular basis.
As many Hawk fans have told me, Nebbie is "afraid" of playing Iowa at Kinnick. I find that to be a larf because Nebraska has nothing to gain from the game. National recognition, no. Recruiting position, no. SOS, maybe three years ago, but not so much before or after that (at least with KF).
I find it interesting that a Hawk fan's response to everything is:
a. well at least I'm not you, or
b. Oh yeah, but you suck.
On one hand it sounds a little like the 3rd grader at recess who secretly loves someone but says it kinda like this...NO WAY YOU'RE GROSS and HAVE COOTIES. Translated...I secretly love you.
On the other hand, if we don't pose a threat, why are they concerned with cutting ISU down and trying to make themselves feel better?
