Not exactly sure.
I
Patrick still has his Covid year if he wants to use it, and Fran has a younger son that is a Junior in high school, but he has already stated he does not want to play for EIU. Lot of their fan base is hoping that Mad Fran will leave after he graduates and finds a job to coach his last son. No way he walks away from over 3 million a year and takes a lower level job to just coach him.
I think Fran sticks it out 2 more years. Let’s his kid graduate from HS, give him a RS year in college and then move to get closer to him.

If Perkins comes back, Iowa will have a decent team. Sanford, Perkins, Dix, and Owen’s are good players at least offensively.
Well sure. A big reason Fran has survived has been relatively low attrition. That happens when most of your recruits either grew up in your house or had Hawkeye posters plastered all over their bedrooms. Freeman will get some calls. Not sure if he bleeds black and gold like many of the others.

Also happens when those who enter the portal don’t get picked up and have to return.

He is doing it the right way and does a good job recruiting Iowa fan boys and legacy players. That is what their fan base wants in a coach.
Never understood the black/white player ratio on his team. Unlike almost any other high-major program. What's behind that?

Iowa Head Coaches have self-confessed "blind spots" when it comes to race. I think by "blind spots" they really mean their first filtering criteria for recruiting lists is skin color.

But you have to have a MBB fan base first. Plenty of pics of empty CHA this year.

Two sons on the team and he spends a ton of time recruiting the state of Iowa and Southern Illinois, so mostly white kids that can shoot the ball.
