Iowa excuses if/when they lose

Man, I remember the aftermath of 2019 when many Hawk fans were basically saying, “We escaped that one. You guys had our number.” We will find out if the tide turns this year.
This is very much a prove it type of game for ISU, especially in the minds of Hawk fans. I think they’re predisposed to hold ISU down and assume we are glorified UNI. We know we are rising; they don’t want to believe it.

You must know different Hawk fans than I do. None of the ones I know were saying anything like that.

What is amusing is hearing the "no win" scenario this year still coming from their pie holes. That is a riot considering all the years they have been blubbering how they want to cancel this serious and play a ranked opponent instead of some patsy that looks at it like a "super bowl".

I've used this many of times when losing to Iowa. It's the truth. This is the first time in my life I think we are higher ranked AND at home. We should win, and Iowa should expect us to. For us to do so would be the same as beating UNI or any other team ranked lower than us. Sorry to be the voice of reason.

I wouldn't mind if we heard this excuse all season long.
