Can't see how Villanova doesn't drop a bunch after losing by 20 to Georgetown.

Agreed, we are in position to move up at least one spot now with a 2-0 week.

However, Louisville is only 1 point behind us at #10, so all it would take is one voter to flip us on their ballot and we would slip behind them as well, making it a wash.

I personally agree with Iowa at 25 based on their solid start to the B1G.

They haven't beaten anyone in the Big 10 yet. Iowa has ONE top 50 win. It's a good one at UNC. But they are 1-4 vs. RPI Top 50. For comparison purposes, we are 6-2.

Iowa is getting votes for sweeping tOSU, who even though isn't in the RPI top 50, is carrying weight on its name alone (which is BS i think)

Think about the butterfly effect, boys. If we beat South Carolina, I doubt if we beat WVU on the road. You can't just assume that each game is played in a vacuum with no bearing on the rest of the season.

SC game doesn't affect the West Virginia game in any case. Beating SC wouldn't have ruled out beating WVU at all.

The SC game won't matter in the long run, but it sure didn't make us more or less likely to win at WVU.

I guess it doesn't really matter at this point. They have to put someone in the Top 25 and 9 out of 10 voters do very little research...they see Iowa at 4-1 in the Big 10 and figure they better rank them.

We'll see what Iowa is made of over the next 5 games: @ Wisc, @ Purdue, vs. Wisc, @ Michigan, vs. Maryland. Win a couple of those and the Top 25 will take care of itself.

Not sure why you think that is a joke….Iowa might actually win that conference….Wisconsin may be winning but not like i thought….Mich St is nothing, Michigan nothing, Indiana who, Nebraska not as good as they thought….

I will keep my hatred for big twelve, i want Iowa to climb those rankings, only makes our drubbing on their court look all the better!!!!

Maybe i spoke too soon!!!!!

So after we beat tech do we move up to #8?

Also I notice WSU dropped one spot in the rankings, lol. It seems like only Seth Greenburg gives a **** about them anymore.

I hope my heart doesn't give out before Big 12 play is over. This season with tough games every week is going to wear me out. But, I wouldn't have it any other way. This is fun.

No doubt. If the RPI stays the way it is we will have a minimum of 15 games against the top 50 RPI, with 9 left on the schedule.

If villanova drops (they should) that could do it. We're so close points wise with louisville that could easily flip (imo it shouldnt, theyre still overrated)

Games of potential relevance in this discussion:

Thursday:

St Marys @ #3 Gonzaga. Gonzaga is heavily favored but St Marys is 7-0 in the WCC.
#7 Arizona @ Stanford (Arizona -4)
Maryland @ Indiana (relevant more for coaches poll where UMD is above us still)

Saturday

Wisconsin @ Michigan

Sunday:

#8 Notre Dame @ NCST
#10 Louisville @ Pitt

It doesn't mean that we win or lose necessarily, but it does mean that our guys go into that game with a different mindset, perhaps with a little more urgency. Hard to say, but I don't think you can discount the learning that comes with failure.
