Reading HNs thread about this is hilarious. Here's my favorite:

Let's schedule LSU or Alabama because that way I can expect the loss and I'll be really, really, really happy if we pull off the upset once a decade. Wait, this is how ISU fans must feel. No wonder they talk like morons after a 3 OT game in their house.

Comparing themselves to LSU and Bama.. If you're going to be delusional, why half-*** it I guess. Calling them even the South Carolina of the big 10 is a stretch.. good stuff

Did you see that guy's sig that posted that? "In 2014, Iowa Football will contend for a National Title"

hahaha. I missed that. Apparently all their non-conference games are lose-lose since they should win every game.. it would make me so happy if they took their fans advice, and replaced CMU/NIU with a few like Alabama and Oregon.

I'm only 30, so I started paying attention to college sports in the late 90s. Since 1998 ISU is 8-6 against the Hawks. We've been winning the series for the last decade and a half and eventually the fans stuck in the 80s and early 90s will die off and be replaced by younger fans who have lived through the Cyclones winning more often than not. The thing is that those 2009 and 2010 games were really, really bad for us and that's what a lot of them cling to. As does the fact that we haven't won in Kinnick since 2002. Give it a few more years as we grow and they stagnate and ISU will be the premier team in the minds of the people of the state.

Wow, some intense deep thought in that blog.
Not even good message board material.

blah..blah..blah..same old **** that hawk fans throw out there every damn year....Iowa State's Super Bowl....doesn't mean that much to Iowa...jesus, how original. Try to think of something new if it's even possible with that 4th grade education.

I have more confidence in 4th graders' ability to think than hawk fans' ability to think.

There's no reason to insult elementary students here.

I would not mind replacing Iowa on the schedule. Aren't they like in the bottom 3 or 4 of all opponents we face? Iowa will be the reason our SOS will end up #2 or #3 instead of #1.

Its funny that so many Iowa fans say that this isn't an important game to the Iowa players when it obvious that it is. Hayden Fry made a huge deal out of "securing the state" during this game. This is something we need to do to **** the football focus of the state to ISU. It started by winning 5 games in a row and hopefully we will continue it this year. I think we pull it out this year. We have the better football conference, once we start "securing the state" more and more HS school students will be interested in Iowa State instead of Iowa.

Yep...starting their excuses early so they might actually convince themselves they don't care about beating ISU. Its kinda funny when the Clones are more often than not the best non con team they schedule and then go into the easier conference

I was already hearing the excuses last week. I work with a few hoks who are reasonable and were genuinely concerned about NIU and the loss to ISU was already a foregone conclusion. I'm sure they will still try to smack-talk as their true yellow and black will start to bleed through.

That's outstanding!
Bears out exactly how the evidence goes, too, since Iowa fans always tell us that they don't care. Over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again.

I don't care.

I don't care.
