Ill never understand why people try and make this point. The 3's are Fred Hoiberg's offense. He's proven that this isn't something that rarely happens here.

An equally fair question would've been what would've happen if Iowa doesn't get to the line 50 times. That's their offense.

ISU made 3 pointers because Fred recruits guys that can make 3 pointers. It will not work all the time, but it isn't like the guys on this team have a history of not being able to make an outside shot. As a matter of fact, there are only 3 guys on the team that don't shoot the 3 well or at least pretty good. Kane, Gibson and Edozie

Teams drain lots of 3s all the teams, teams rarely outscore an opponent at the line by 27 in a tight game...unless it's a clear homer job.

Can a game be played, either football or basketball where ISU fan doesn't cry and blame the refs?

Iowa attacks the lane and gets to the FT line, that is their game, just as the 3 ball is ISU's game. Iowa almost made as many FT (655) as ISU attempted last year (696). Iowa attempted 200 more FT last year than ISU, and was 3rd nationally in FT attempts and 2nd nationally in FT made. Iowa is going to go to the line even more this year with the new rules in effect, this is not shocking.

Can a game be played, either football or basketball where Iowa fans don't claim that ISU fans cry and blame the refs?

We know that a game can be played in a vacant building, since we saw those pictures from CHA today.

Regardless of what they claim attendance was, that's more empty seats than full seats. The die hards seem to be the only ones who got the memo that they are a top ten team this year.

I would love to see how many free throw attempts Iowa has at home per game vs on the road. I bet there is a staggering difference

Maybe refs feel bad that Iowa has no home court advantage? Gotta make up for the mausoleum effect?

I'm just claiming that all Iowa fans know nothing about the sports that "their" teams play.

When the rest of the country agrees that ISU gets screwed, you'd think Iowa fans would get it. I guess not.

Homerism is very common in sports. Iowa won because of it today, but you won't have homerism on your side when you play us.

MVSU made the NCAA tourney that year... solid win over a tourney team. :v_SPIN:
At least you got the comparison (I think).

Royce played 3 minutes in that game. Unless your star is Oglesby this isn't a very good attempt at defending your win.

You just lost a lot of cred (with me) with this post.
I'm not here for cred. If I was looking for cred, I'd be slobbing everybody's knob like that docilhawk dude. Just calling it like I see it. Iowa had a poor game today, against a bad team. They still won. They did the same thing last year (down by 23 to Gardener Webb), and still ended up doing alright during the rest of the season.

Good teams struggle with tough turds all the time. If this becomes the norm, I'd be more worried. Since they won, and demolished another team of equal or slightly more talent than this one, I'd venture to say today was an anomaly.

In BIG play on the road the Hawks shot 179 FT in 9 games for an avg. of basically 20 per game.

They shot 896 total over 38 games for an avg. of 23.5 FT per game.

Hardly a "staggering" difference. I would bet 95% or more of teams avg. more FT at home, than on the road.
