This will be the last year for awhile that this rivalry will be this competitive. Iowa is gonna get real bad in the coming years with the losses of Marble and White.

I expect Iowa to play hard. I expect to see them diving all over the floor. They will be hungry.

And the Cyclones will still beat the snot out them.

If the Iowa team from last night shows up we will win.

Xavier can't shoot, their best player was out for the bulk of the 2nd half, another was sick and didn't show, their guards read about a press in a comic book, their big guy missed a bunny near the end, and it still took OT.

I'll reassess Iowa in 2 more games because that was their first real game of the year. They may make a positive turn.

When Marble graduates what will they do?

Props to Iowa for coming back from 15 down midway through the quarter. But, wow, Xavier is not a good team. I rarely saw any offensive flow.

Should be an interesting game between Iowa and ISU; should tell both fan bases a lot about their team.

Iowa will give us a fight, but no way isu drops that one at Hilton. Totally expect a great game, but the right team comes out on top. Kane scores 20+

They're good. Probably better than BYU or Michigan

Doubtful. Good, Different, but not Better.

Anyway, from what I've seen from Iowa this year, for as tall as they are, they have no interior defense. Niang is going to have a field day with them. (I recall Niang scoring 25 or so against Woodbury in AAU)

Wonder if they remember the Baylor game from last year. Now take that team's talent and coaching times 10, and that is who Iowa will play tomorrow against Kansas. It should shut the Hawks up for a bit.

Also, Michigan will finish ahead of them in the Big 10

About 1/3 of Iowa's scoring came off transition buckets where UTEP wasn't back.

The only way Iowa scores in the half court, is if Marble creates and scores himself, or if White goes uncontrollably to the basket to get fouled.

I can't believe how hard some of you guys are trying to put down Iowa and make excuses for the solid beatdown they're giving UTEP tonight. Haha. Just accept it, Iowa is a good team.

I, for one, welcome that and am excited to have a series that excites both fan bases again...not just ours. It should be a good game in Hilton. I hope both teams are ranked when the game occurs.

I will be yelling until my vocal chords give out! Can't wait to play 'em in Hilton!

Iowa is good no doubt about it. I still don't think for a second they will beat us in Hilton but that isn't taking anything away from them we are better IMO and it just don't really lose at home anymore.

I have to admit I am a little nervous about their second unit pressing us. We were pretty sloppy with the ball against UMKC press (early on, got better after a few minutes) and even worse against BYU at the end of the game. Fortunately most of the mistakes at the end of the BYU game were made by two freshman guards by telegraphing passes and not pass faking at all.
