Imo there tends to be an overreaction either way with the first game.

If ISU wins 45-0 yesterday it doesn't mean things will be rosy in 6 weeks. So much can happen with injuries, team dynamics, etc as the season goes on.

I can't tell if ISU has much for real potential but I'm still guessing 7-8 wins some how.

I can’t tell much with ISU. But, there are several members of the conference that I will go ahead and put that W in ink. I think ISU still has a decent chance of being in the conversation for the CCG regardless of how the Iowa game turns out.

Lots of things to clean up on running defense. Iowa would have 250 yards rushing if we were playing them today. Tons of work to do this week.
Yea. With Heacock you never really now where things stand because he only turns up the def dial just enough. I like to always think he has some tricks in his bag and I am sure he does but other than our secondary, I was not enthused by our defense at all in this game. Good news is KF will be back for this game so lets hope he puts the governor back on the OC.

Yeah but our offense is good and Iowa's offense despite points put up in 2nd half is still dog ****.

They had almost 500 yards.

Iowa's offense is generally not good but they tend to pull out the needed play at crucial times.

Our offense didn't look very good today. Theirs looked like a train wreck the first half. However the 2nd half they were clicking. Their D looks to be tough again, ours may be a work in progress.

Because of defense our offense didn't get near the reps / plays it should have. That 96 yard drive in 2nd half impressed me.

Against an FCS program. Will need to see them against Div 1 competition before I declare their offense as legit.

I don’t want to see a too-conservative gameplan on offense, but time of possession will probably be critical with our defensive injuries.

Guessing LBs will get a lot of attention in practice this week. They need to grow up fast if we’re going to give ourselves a chance.

A clean and productive offensive performance can win the game for ISU. Another vanilla gameplan with turnovers and Iowa wins again.

Yeah I don't think it's legit (and saw maybe 5 minutes of their game), just saying they tend to be opportunistic in the middle of not doing much.

6 days out but might be a light sweatshirt type of day. High of 68, partly cloudy, with around a 12 mph wind forecasted by Weather Underground.

Their offense is nowhere close to legit but it is probably average. 500 yards of offense isn’t impressive but it is for them considering how bad they have been on offense.
