Every year the chicken littles come out pissing their pants like Iowa is some national power like Georgia. It's pathetic.
I think we have a realistic chance at beating them Saturday but in most years Iowa controls the line of scrimmage and we do enough dumb things in close games to shoot ourselves in the foot and ends up costing us the game. Hopefully won't go that way this year.

This and until Campbell shows different he doesn't seem to coach this game like Mac did where Iowa game was a must win at all costs.

Of course Mac was an Iowan also played into this and Campbell isn't. Campbell obviously wants to win this game but it's not the end all be all

I don’t feel confident about this one. Which probably means we win.

I’ll go with 20-14 Iowa. Will be happy to be wrong.

At the end of broadcast in talking about the upcoming cy-hawk game John and Eric brought up that we have played them better in Iowa City as of recent history. Hope trend can continue.

It also was because Mac was from Iowa. I think that Campbell isn't plays into acting like it's just another game.

For sure was a big factor. With where the program was at, he needed to end the streak and turn around the series if we was going to build a program.

Also think Fry running up the score on him in 97(?) flipped a switch in him.

Pretty sure it was just to keep his job but I guess it's the same thing.

Having Iowa suck for 3/5 of his own streak sure helped.

Probably gets canned after 98 if he doesn’t win at Kinnick that year.

But that did give the fans a boost, and he got over the hump in 2000

Our offense didn't look very good today. Theirs looked like a train wreck the first half. However the 2nd half they were clicking. Their D looks to be tough again, ours may be a work in progress.

Iowa’s offense does that in second half against crap teams. Hopefully we aren’t one of them.

Against good teams their offense looks like the first half the entire game.

I don’t want to see a too-conservative gameplan on offense, but time of possession will probably be critical with our defensive injuries.

Guessing LBs will get a lot of attention in practice this week. They need to grow up fast if we’re going to give ourselves a chance.

A clean and productive offensive performance can win the game for ISU. Another vanilla gameplan with turnovers and Iowa wins again.
My observation of breakdowns on "D" were the linebackers 'overplaying' or 'not gap sound'. So, yes, I'll bet there's extra focus there this week.

I think it’s funny when Iowa fans hate CMC.

During the Mac years they all dreamt of a coach who would lose to Iowa then beat top teams in the Big 12, as opposed to Mac typically beating Iowa then rarely if ever beating ranked big 12 teams. They got their wish, they should love the guy.

If I remember right, the last time we played in Kinnick, we stunk the joint up and still won...

They are the fake ID of college football, feasting on a soft B1G West schedule. But CMC is 1-7 against them. CMC has lost to them with some of our best teams ever. There is a good reason people have minimal confidence playing them at this point.

Hell, at this point I feel more confident lining up against Oklahoma than iowa.
