WELCOME TO THE PROCESS - YouTube
His opening (newly hired) press conference:
"In life change is inevitable, change happens, but greatness is a choice."
"Our ability to wake up day in and day out, control our attitude and effort, greatness is choice.
"From this day forward, every decision that I make will be strained to bring greatness to the fans, alumni, community, the great students, and the great student athletes that I get a chance to coach on a day in day out basis. I'm truly honored to be a Cyclone, and I'm truly honored and humbled to be the head football coach here."

"I'm interested in knowing why details win football games, not superheroes, not elite players, it's details. It's my ability to come every day and perfect my craft. It's this saying right here, 'greatness comes to those who daily understand the ability to perfect themselves'."
"Life in Ames isn't easy. Every thing that we get, we are going to have to earn."

Loved the highlights, 2017, the win over OU in Norman, the Marcel Spears interception against TCU, 2017! Spears one of my favorite Cyclones! So many that year though: Kempt, Montgomery, Lazard, Butler, Jones, Campos, Harvey, Peavey, Lima, Bailey, Waggoner, Payne, Cotton-Moya, oh yeah and a guy named Lanning!
"If you fall in love with the process, at some point in life the process will fall in love with you, OK. It'll give you every thing you want."

...Right up to the 2018 bowl game vs. Wash St.

Just read this in an article about Ohio State. “I got 10 guys (who can play),” offensive line coach Greg Studrawa said. “I think the backups would start at a lot of places.”

First of all, I love that Campbell said we have 11!

Second, do you think he stretched his number to make sure it was more than 10? I don't, but I like the concept of him sticking it to "the other team out east."

This one is not from Campbell, but rather from Manning.
NOTEBOOK: Mike Rose’s “unique” gifts and Tom Manning’s primer on “competitive endurance” – CycloneFanatic.com | CycloneFanatic: The Internet's most popular site for fans of the Iowa State Cyclones

"ISU quarterbacks coach Joel Gordon and his playcaller, Brock Purdy both referenced something offensive coordinator Tom Manning has called “competitive endurance” during Wednesday’s interviews.

What is that exactly, coach?

“(It) can be defined a lot of ways,” Manning said. “We’re just, from our end, we’re talking about the ability to compete with yourself and compete with your opponent for a long period of time. …"

Purdy helped define Manning’s term even more.

“Doing the little things right, over and over,” the Cyclones’ record-setting quarterback said. “Being consistent in our daily habits and obviously when we’re out on the field in practice... Coach (Matt Campbell) always says the margin for error is small and I feel like competitive endurance is literally what we need to be focusing on as an offense, a defense, and the whole team. That’s been our motto so far.”

Maybe this is one of their sayings/mottos for this year, 2021,
“competitive endurance”?

Keeping this going...
...base camp on “the rough side of the mountain,”

“What combats fear? Love,” Campbell told me. “And I think, uniquely, it’s really what has made us who we are. When you cut us open, you can talk about a lot of stuff, but the reality is the relationships, the care, and the love that we’ve got as a coaching staff and players..."
