Is Matt Thomas the most improved player?

Yeah, Seldon is guy who can go off, but I think Nader has the foot speed too.. I've also noticed Nader take less chances on D the last couple games, and I think sound defense is more important for us than steals. Just keep them in front of us, get the ball back, and go score on the other end.

I'm asking a question: who is the "we" that thought Nader may get benched? You and who else?
Dear Lord it was discussed on here and there was a story in the Register. I didn't have a strong opinion either way but it was certainly discussed. I didn't realize it was a stealth issue

I remember an article by Randy Peterson but pretty much ignored it when Prohm himself is quoted as saying he won't bench Nader for Burton. I didn't realize it was discussed here since I don't monitor the place like a hawk, and wouldn't even expect it to be talked about much when the head basketball coach has basically dismissed the idea.

Matt definitely is the most improved. I've been really impressed with Georges improvement on offense. He was already a great collegiate player, but it seems his offensive moves have gone to whole another level.

I don't know if his moves are that much better, it's more he's making better decisions. He used to occasionally spin back into pressure but now seems to be ahead of the defense and goes to that fall away step back shot when the penetration is shut down. Basically Georges is just making the correct read almost every time and he has a shot in the arsenal to counter almost anything the defense does.

I vote Matt as well, but Nader would actually be an option...some games...
Until Nader does it consistently he's not. He's definitely trending upward and has tons of games to win this award. If he plays like the OU game the rest of the way watch out big 12. I love seeing seniors put it all together. Granted, I prefer to see juniors put it all together. :)

WTF are you talking about? He said something, I asked a question to clarify, and he answered. What's this "vs." stuff?

He is very active on both ends of the floor even when the 3 point shot isn't falling. Good defensive, rebounds well, not afraid to attack the basket. Sometimes he has mixed results when driving but he is getting better in my opinion. Not just a 'catch and shoot' guy.
Not even a question. Easily the most improved

John Walters has done a nice piece on Nader on Cyclones.com. All of the things Coach identifies as things to work on are starting to show in his play.

Also, maybe people can remember this (they won't) when ragging on a freshman or even sophomore. People improve. That's part of the point of hard work and playing at a higher level.
If junior Thomas could play for freshman Thomas you'd have a point. Most knew he would be better as an upperclassman, but you don't judge what his play then by his play in the future. He has improved into a good Big 12 role player and glue guy, which is what the Thomas fan club always expected, right?

The problem was many were saying he would never be that guy. As he was, was all he would ever be. A lot of shortsighted people on this topic.

Agreed...same could be said for Nader...

When people talked about Nader being a potential 'breakthrough player' this season, it was met with strong resistance on here by some, with a few going as far as saying he wasn't a 'talented player'.

Never be a Big 12 role-player and glue guy? Please. Thomas came in with a lot of hype and many refused to believe what he really was.

He's one of the best three point shooters in the conference and also one of the best defenders. If that's what you mean by "role-player" then sure.
