Teams can have tape all they want and i get it but what it means with Purdy is LB”s and even DE’s have to stay home and be honest..instead of just teeing off on DM or a Statue QB on pass downs....All that changes now. Know what is harder than defending a mobile QB? A mobile QB who can throw accurately..deadly combo.

Kid is a true frosh and he will mess up some but all QB’s do..Just so long as things dont get predictable this offense will be night and day from the first 4 games. Key for him is knowing when to slide and protect yourself and live another down.

That was one of if not the most impressive debuts as an ISU QB i’ve Seen...outside KK vs OU.

Defense played well enough to win but man we are terrible on 3rd and long mostly and why on earth we are in a 3-3-5 on the goaline is head scratching..I mean go big and goaline..no reason to have 6-7 guys back in coverage when they are at the 3 yard line.

With the style of offense that ISU runs, I think a quick QB is essential to being successful. There has to be a little bit of uncertianity when you are going to run a option play. If the D KNOWS that your QB can't move his ass, Montgomery is getting the ball EVERY TIME. I don't think 1 time this year until today, did I see our QB keep the ball on an option play.

Sorry but I can almost guarantee you that Kempt moves ahead of Noland after the bye week (If he is healthy). The announcers basically said the same thing. It's now a 2-man competition between Kempt and Purdy.

Noland is probably one of the best 3rd stringers in the country, but Kempt and Purdy have the intangibles that you don't see very often. Both are poised and make great decisions out there. I love Purdy's feet, but Kempt has the experience factor.

You are probably right that if Kempt is healthy, he would go in if Purdy struggles. But I was more impressed with Noland in the TOE game than Kempt. Kempt seemed really timid and unwilling to throw deep and locked onto a receiver from the snap. Noland became timid, and started throwing short of the first down marker. Reality is if either Kempt or Noland get back on the field because Purdy struggles, there is no reason to worry about them getting injured.

I also hope Mitchell gets into 4 games this season at some point to gain that experience.

Kempt honestly doesn’t have THAT much more experience. He’s only played in 8 more games than Purdy. It’s not like we’re talking about a guy that’s been starting since a sophomore.

Just think if Purdy was in the entire year we could have won 10 or 11 games.

I'd pump the brakes on this until next week but his style does give more looks than what was happening earlier for what they want to do offensively.

Fostered some excitement for the season which was needed.

My post was said in jest due to some of swarthmore's QB posts from last year.

Got it.

BUT, win next week and ISU's got a nice chance to at least finish high in the conference.

Where did Park land with all of that P5 interest?
Wherever he wanted, which likely is a place that allows him to keep his desired lifestyle.

With his high level P5 talent, this program has several more wins over the past year if he were to remain clean. Really too bad, but hopefully we’ve got a similar talent in Purdy.

It looked like he took a pretty good hit on that 60 yard pass to Milton. He stood in and delivered a pretty incredible ball for a freshman in his first start at a ranked opponents house. His poise and control at such an early stage was hat I was most impressed with. Oh and that head fake on his run was Purdy durty as well.
