Is this the year a 16th seed knocks off a 1 seed?

All it takes is for a 16 seed to go unconscious from 3.. but even in a "not 1 single overly dominant 1-seed year", the gap between 16 seeds and 1 seeds is pretty big.

Highly doubtful. Could it happen? Sure. But very, very doubtful.

Never in the history of the NCAA Tournament has a 16th seed knocked off a 1 seed. This year, I think that trend continues. However, out of all the number one seeds which one would be the most vulnerable? I am not picking it, but I think the number one seed that COULD be the most vulnerable to have this happen is Virginia. Coastal Carolina in my opinion is the strongest number 16 seed and will keep this contest relatively close. Your thoughts?

Coastal Carolina also has more of a home game here than Virginia does, or at least I think they do. I don't exactly know where Coastal Carolina is located, other than probably in the coastal area of either north or South Carolina. Too bad they still suck. Virginia will have their way with them.

Witchita State is legit. If they get past Kentucky or avoid them I think they will win the Midwest region.

They are legit because of their record, not because who they have beaten. I would be shocked (no pun intended) to see them make it out of that region alive. I think they'll be lucky to make the Elite 8.

No, not this year.

I don't foresee very many early-round upsets this year. There will be at least a couple, as there usually are, but I don't think we'll see a #3 seed or any higher seeds going down in the 1st round.

If teams like Wisconsin-Green Bay, Louisiana Tech, and Georgia State had been able to win their conference tournaments and gotten seeded from a #13 to a #10 seed I'd be tempted to pick all three of them to win a game or two, but obviously they didn't. This is based on anecdotal evidence and nothing more, so someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it's the mid-majors who win both the regular season and conference tournament titles that usually go on a Cinderella type of run in March.

NCCU team has won twenty straight games! Granted, the teams they defeated during that stretch were horrible but the momentum and confidence they have right now has reached it's pinnacle. They are scary because of the fact they have nothing to lose and everything to gain (much like every lowly seeded teams in the tourney). NC Central looks like a cream puff on paper, but I'm telling you they are well coached and solid! They are strong defensively, and can be dangerous offensively too. The key will be to contain Ingram their leading offensive weapon. Do we have a shot at winning? Yes. Do I think NC Central is underrated? Absolutely! I would pick NC Central to defeat Syracuse if they were to play them as well. When the brackets were revealed, I had a bad feeling about it from the get go. Just my opinion.

I don't, either, but how do you think this won't happen, but you think we'll lose to NCCU?
