David Sims and Jamaine Billups were a couple guys who brought the wood from the defensive backfield. Leonard Johnson at corner. But Young is the most violent that I've seen due to his size and speed, but also because it seems like he has really good instincts.

Been watching ISU football for a long time and cannot recall another Safety hitting as hard as Isheem Young. He hits like a Mack truck and is one of the most important parts of ISU’s strong run defense. Reminds me of Steve Atwater or Cam Chancellor. Just love watching him lay the wood to opposing RBs.

I called him a Terminator in another thread yesterday and I think it fits him. Isheem cant be bargained with. He cant be reasoned with. He doesnt feel pity, or remorse, or fear, and he absolutely will not stop until the play is dead.

I can only assume Swell is a shortening of super unwell. Troubling.

Doubt we've ever had a dback that brings it like Isheem does. He's a freaking missile.

He came to Iowa State with a bit of a cloud over his head, but he's been an outstanding representative of ISU both on and off the field from day 1.

My apologies on the original title. First time at starting a thread. Just got excited after watching the replay of the OSU game and seeing Isheem knock that runner a yard back on fourth down, only to have his offensive lineman pull him two yards forward.

I think majority of it is good natured ribbing. That was a hell of play. One of those that a few years from now “remember how hard Isheem Young used to hit guys? Like that play that won the Okie St game that year?”

Testifying
Some guys just have a nose for the football and are always around the ball. Rose is like that too.

And yeah, I love watching Isheem lay the wood. He pretty much back-flattened that UNI RB earlier this season; a huge hit. And he's also doing a much better job keeping his head up on his tackles this year. I don't think he's had any targeting infractions so far.
I was at the UNLV game and was deep into the beers. Was it Ish they picked up the targeting flag on?

Which play are you referring to? Can I get a time stamp?

It was OSU’s last possession. It was fourth and two, and Isheem came up from his safety position and literally knocked the runner a yard backwards as he was trying to get the first down.
