There are some goo combos, but I'd be surprised if we don't get way more modern alternates. We have to present something flashier if we want this to actually make a difference to recruits. They will probably be ugly, but the good news is you get new ones the next week.

Hopefully this is taken as "constructive criticism" — I like the Trice-striping, I'd prefer it's almost exact recreation, whether it's on pants or shoulders. I think the Trice look gets lost in the numeral on the shoulder.

These are not meant to be alternates, at least by me anyway. I was thinking of them to be ideas for the main uniform. My initial thought, desire was to get rid of the shoulder stripes we've had for the last 8-9 yrs, just too much 'stripes' and couldn't mix and match colors, helmets well, if they wanted.

The intention is to give them ideas. If they like any of it fine, if not that's fine too. They may have something better. As far as "alternates", I fully expect them to do what they want there also. I just think we need a main primary uniform first.

Appreciate ALL the ideas, suggestions, otherwise it is just what I think might look good, work, and that is not the case here, nor what I want. Thanks for your your comment.

I am surprised (unless I missed it) that no one has mentioned the possibility of a "font" change...you know, something LIKE (but not necessarily copyng) the trendier lettering (+/- numbers) that Oregon uses? It would be the SINGLE MOST impactful upgrade/update without losing any of the traditional features that everyone likes! BTW, I agree that something MUCH more innovative could be created in the future with different profiles and even "swept back/across" tornadoes/cyclones!

Thanks for comment, I'll try to pass along suggestion of Font, when I finally send these pics up the chain.

You've all seen this image, I bet. Not my design, but bringing it back up. This is the only image that should be put in front of Pollard and Campbell.

It has all the fundamentals to riff on with professional apparel designers:
-True red-hue gold (looks like they are already hinting at that with the all-whites this year)
-Streamlined logo (I-State cardinal stencil)
-Subtle nods to the past, modernized for the future (twister tornado, Trice stripes)
-Stripes minimal and under control (no throwing blocky color stripes on stripes on stripes like Ol'Miss!)
-No USC copy

You can throw in neutrals in blocks (a 1-1 swap of Cardinal or gold with a white, gray, maybe charcoal). These are your base uniforms. Then...let Nike go all Pro-Combat design on any alts after you have the base expectation decided and standard colors set.

Go for it. I have already done so, and I suppose amestoplease has also. Don't think it is happening though as it involves a change in the color scheme. But who knows.

I agree this uniform would be ideal, I just don't think Pollard will change our colors unfortunately.

However, there is definitely some "gold" in our new white helmets and I LOVE it. Just not sold that Pollard will change it permanently as one of our colors.

I think the amestoplease photo-like one with the trice stripes, etc is more "representative" of the earlier collaborative effort, as in there were more people involved and commenting with those concepts. Whereas the more recent ones were you and a few others since the flood of updates weeded some people out. That does not mean we don't appreciate your efforts (...we do!!) or that is not a nice, cleaned up (pending the ongoing sleeve S/number/stripe refining) concept (...it is!!).

My point I guess is that if you send it (and who knows who will see it), maybe describe less as "This represents the will of CycloneFanatic and the superfans!", but more "Here is another concept some of us have come up with on CycloneFanatic, along with the others you have seen". (like the amestoplease 49ers/trice stripe/stencil combo)

I agree with Rods79 points quoted above, but also you t-noah that the "real gold" may be a pipedream. But the key components of "stencil logo option on yellow helmet" and secondary logos on pants with the twister, etc are minor ways to freshen up any new or existing uni that seem like they have wide consensus from this and earlier threads.

While some get sick of them, I think these uniform threads are a great off-season diversion. Thanks all!

Not a huge fan of the All-Yellow, or yellow jersey with a different color pant/helmet, OK once in a while I suppose, but not my favorite color combination.

So I played around and came up w/ this, in r/y/r. It uses two shades of yellow/gold (three if you include the "stitching") in the jersey. I don't think they'd do this, but I think a little "gold" accent in the yellow jersey could be considered, to sort of tone down the "yellowness", maybe not this much, but you get the idea.

I also changed the Font for "Iowa State" and "Cyclones" on the jersey, as another suggested, just to see how it might look.

This one's a little more out-there, and unconventional, call me 'wild an crazy',

I used your suggestion on the font, see post #71.

You will probably fall on deaf ears with the font. JP had a new one designed specifically for our letterhead and use of branding. I would venture to say it's also the biggest reason we have had mild resistance to the uniform changes in the first place, because Jamie has such a hard on for that I-State logo and lettering.

Agreed, I knew that when I decided to change to font, for this one pic. It was just fun to do, see what it would look like. It's not a huge deal for me to change the font, and as you say, I don't think JP wishes to do so. I may include that one pic, when I get around to sending, but I won't mention anything about a font change.

Thx for posting! This is how I've always approached the AD, respectfully, passing along some pics, ideas from some of us at CF, hopefully never demanding, no that would not work. What they do w/ those ideas, if anything, is entirely up to them, and that's OK.

If I could have started this thread differently, I would, to convey that better, or maybe not even ask anyone to contact the AD. Not appropriate. And to be more brief. Brevity has not always been my strength. I have gotten some good suggestions though, and that is what I really wanted.

Pretty much done, seems like some like, some don't, that's fine, just needed to know. A lot of color combinations could be had though, some good, some not so much maybe. I knew that yellow one would get some negative.
