Our d has been better in most areas this year outside of closing out 3s. We don't get as many stupid fouls as in the past, we have a shot blocker and guys like Georges and monte blocking more shots. Monte and BDJ are very disruptive in passing lanes.

If we improve the one atrocious area we can be a good defensive team for our pace.

It is interesting how razor thin the margin for error is this time of year (or in the Big 12 in general). ISU played pretty good D against OU, but it could have all been wiped out by one lapse on the last play.

Also, it would be interesting to read this thread in the parallel universe where Spangler makes the layup...

Yep, not much "material" seperates most of the Big 12, and even tournament level teams. Imo we are spoiled that Fred's teams play close or at their best more than all but a few.

What's the deal? Consistently shutting people down. Texas gets zip in the final 4+ minutes. OU only scores on 3 possessions in the final 5 minutes.

The basketball equivalent of Rocky switching to his left hand.

The reason we didn't have a more comfortable win were the unforced TO's in the first have and the offensive rebounds for OU throughout the game.
