I have a horrible feeling that we could end up getting left out to dry in all of this.

JP and GG better be on the phone with KU, KSU, and MU to make certain we are all a package deal. Outside of maybe KSU, we have the least to offer any conference.

The ONLY reason we get invited to BE or MWC is because it evens out the number of teams. Other than that, we have VERY little to offer anyone.

We have 3 million people here to market a conference network to. Which is more than Kansas. But I would say Kansas basketball gets more viewers for their games.

Yes, the remaining teams need to be working together. Although I think priority #1 should be rebuilding the Big 12 with new members.

The BEST thing I've heard is that KU and KSU are a packaged deal. That makes it difficult (not impossible) for the PAC10 to steal KU. The better fit is Big East. If Big East takes those two, I don't see how ISU could get left out. It make geographic sense and keeps together teams that have played each other for 100+ years.

What if this package of schools makes the school less desirable than if they went out on there own? KU and MU might feel it is better for themselves to go out and sell themselves individually and they could be right if they think that way. And if this process has taught us anything...schools should look out for themselves only! Why would you do anything else?

when are you guys that have this thought of adding teams to the big 12 going to take the time to listen to bebee's call yesterday? There will be no more big 12.

How many times does it need to be said that KU and KSU are NOT a packaged deal. KU will do whatever is in their best interest. There is no law requiring them to be together.

We had better attach ourselves with KU, KSU, and MU, or we could be making a hard fall into the MAC.

We need to be proactive and invite the entire Big East to the remaining 4 Big XII schools. Screw Baylor.

I'm not on the "screw baylor" wagon. I see they are the "ISU" of the South division right now so I can understand their predictament.

With that said, their only hope is for the PAC10 to take them if aTm goes SEC, and that will require a miracle, IMO. Big East isn't going to take a team from Waco. Just too dang far.

True, and it doesn't surprise me that they would give up. Just another stupid decision by the Big 12 leadership.

This report says KU and MU might get courted by the MWC...not sure I saw a mention of ISU in this report:

Report: Kansas Jayhawks, Missouri Tigers on Mountain West Conference's radar - ESPN

Correct. You can spin it all you want to, but NOBODY wants ISU... period. We need to accept that fact, and quick. We MUST package ourselves with KU and MU at the very least. KU and MU are attractive for various reasons. Both have the KC market and MU also has St. Louis. KU also has a premier MBB team. We have virtually nothing to add to any conference. We need to deal with that fact.

THAT is exactly why this situation exists. Schools like (NEBRASKA!) have always only ever looked out for themselves and got upset when they didn't get their way. The history of the Big 12 Conference will be written as individual schools that looked out for themselves.

The group as a whole is greater than the sum of the parts. I hope they do stay together. I wouldn't blame any of them individually for going off on their own if the opportunity is there. Granted, you do have to do what is in your own best interest. I don't blame Nebraska for doing what they did. I just don't like the path that led to it.

If the schools that started the Big 12 would have looked out for each other, rather than themselves, none of this could have or would have happened.

I will bet you they end up together. While it is not law, they will try very hard to stay together.

The question that begs to be asked is why would KU and MU want to be packaged with us? To be nice to us? Nope...it is every school for themselves!
