f we cannot show up in Lincoln, how can we show up anywhere on the road. No NIT expected after this sluggish performance. Jiri cannot do it by himself - he had their best player on him. His support cast remains only a support cast. We have more potential than we showed - we are not playing too smart on passing the ball. Ultra safe and no open shots are the result.

I couldn't disagree more. I think Nebbie still takes us with Wes in the lineup. We just didn't show up. Wes would've just corked up a bunch more 3's in all likelihood.
You don't think Wes would've kept our team out of that scoring drought? No shots we're falling, and we couldn't even get good shots off. When there are no open shots, there's no one I'd rather have shooting the ball than Wes.

We lost this game because of turnovers, not lack of offense.

I don't think the next 3 games are going to matter if Wes is playing or not. We have a tough stretch ahead. This game was very important and we didn't come through.

Have we won any games away from Hilton other than the game against Purdue in Las Vegas? Just thinking off the top of my head that we don't have any road victories other than that one.

Today's game was a must win. Without that win, I don't think we make any postseason this year....again.

Edit: Just remembered the Oregon State game, that's two.

We won at Oregon State in OT.

And I agree, I think its another year without postseason play...unfortunately....

Should not be a one player team!!!!!!!!!!!!

Exactly. Wes is good, but he alone isn't going to make this team look decent instead of pathetic. Having him certainly helps, but that doesn't change the fact that we're a VERY mediocre team.

I mentioned this before, I don't think we'll win any conference road games. Our team just isn't good enough, and I think they've plateaued.

That said, will I hope that they win some? Of course. I'm just not expecting anything.

Might sneak 1 win, but that would be tops. I'm more concerned with the 4 we are likely to lose at home (TX, A&M, KU, KSU). If we do lose those 4, which is very likely, that means we would finish 4-4 at home in conf. and likely 1-7 at best on the road.

We are looking at 5 conf. wins my friends.

What makes me disappointed is the fact that we had a great chance to win this game but we blew it with all the turnovers.

-Take Jamaal Tinsley off our 2001 team and they probably don't make the NCAA tournament.
-Take LeBron or Kobe off their teams and they aren't playoff teams.

Considering we are in the 2nd year of a rebuilding job and don't have as much depth as we will in the future(hopefully), taking away a player of Wes Johnson's caliber is a killer for us. Add that to the fact we are playing on the road and it's trouble. Our coaches pulled a miracle last week against CU playing the way we did.
