I would like to get the 2 Juco LB's we are after. Harris and Brown. And the Juco DE Pierson. Those are key players. All starters IMO. The defense would be pretty good. And I'd like to see us get Campbell at QB. That guy has a real burst of speed. What an athlete. And I want a great OC. That is my Christmas wish list.

Agreed. And remember we have some solid youg guys waiting to get their chance. Hopefully these JUCO guys will help provide the time needed for these young guys to be ready for big time.

Don't forget that we also need to score more points than the opponent to win the game. Here's how it works. Every time you score points, then the opponent needs to also score that many points to keep up. So the more points you score, the better chance you have of winning. For example, against Baylor, they scored 71 points which made it hard for us to win because we would've had to score more than 71 points to win which is hard to do. CPR, make sure you recruit players that can score points!

I checked but couldn't find a 'love' button, so had to settle for like.

Agree. And don't forget to blame Bill Bleil.

I don't blame Bill Bleil. I just don't give him undeserved credit. Nor do I give him a pass. IMO, he has been a bit of a weak link that would probably be gone if he did not have a very close personal relationship with CPR. Others feel the same way.

So he should have done this all in one year, one where a starter at ever spot has been injured this year? How about more than one year before judging a coach.

Ask Auburn fans what a coach can do in one year.

Regarding the injuries, no the current OL coach can't do a lot about that. My point is why blame Bleil for that situation then either?

Another fool comparing us to a team with bluechip talent. Clueless fans are just that, clueless. I was not blaming bleil, but I wasn't blaming K for one year either.

Size Matters

I think the writing was on the wall when Irving was moved inside during fall camp and Coe who had never played DT in his life, was also going to be relied on for big minutes early in the season. Add to that our DE Scott weighs 225lbs. No matter how good he is, he is going to be engulfed by 300lb OT. Add to that our 3 LB's- George, Knott and Brackins all weigh less than 220lbs.

We need some JUCO help on DL & LB, but the core group is on campus. IMO a DT rotation of Jenson, Coe and Cousins should be stout up the middle. IMO it is critical that Irving be able to play DE. He has the bulk and leverage to be an effective run stopping end. In passing situations, maybe the staff moves Irving inside. I think Morrisey, Meyer, Kron and a JUCO can be amsolid group of DE's.

LB is my bigger concern. Having Miller, Knott and Brackins being our starters scares the heck out of me. I think Miller/Meeks have the bulk to play MLB. I think Knott/Brackins could compete at WLB. However, it is critical a current backup or JUCO emerges at SLB. We need a guy around 230lbs that can be physical in the run and be effective in coverage.

Another example of fools reading what they want. Never compared ISU to Auburn or any other team. Your comment of -- "How about more than one year before judging a coach" doesn't hold up. At least with Auburn fans. And some fools don't understand that Auburn had blue chip talent before this run and lost more games than we did......

Actually, your comment about Auburn implied a comparison. Coaching up 4* talent is easier than coaching up 2* talent. Which is why he replied in the manner he did.

Auburn had plenty of four star talent that could have been coached up last year and you saw what happened.

My comparison was not with Auburn players. The initial comment made, which I disagree with, is that coaches can't be judged after just one year. Coaches can, and do, make huge impacts in just one year with the same talent that existed before they arrived.
