ISU offers DE

Cant find any recruit info on him? I smell a paul rhoads hidden gem (see: jake knott) yes I am being optimistic

Bevins was wrestling at 215# at this time last year, and he may be growing out of the DE position already. Maggitt was 190-200# in his rivals profile and was already playing quite a bit his RS Freshman year. McDonough was 220-230#.

Obviously he probably wouldn't be as ready to play as quickly as a bigger guy like Suttles, but he's not that small compared to guys who have been solid B12 players for ISU.

Right. There are numerous HS kids recruited for WDE that are in that 200-215 range when their weight is initially listed. He will have a workout suggested to him once he signs and he will be in the room next summer. 240 by his Rs Fr season is very attainable. Also, just because a kid weighs 240 doesn't mean that's all good. They often need some sort of transformation as well.

The Tampa area has been good to ISU so far.

The kid will learn to build muscle the right way over the next year or two. No doubt.

What was Berryman's weight listed at before he got here? Im too lazy to look it up, but I believe it was under 220 for sure (could be wrong). He wasn't that big of a guy if you stood next to him. Suttles not coming has me bummed I feel he will at least be a good player for Nebraska, and if he is a stud then will really suck because D-End is a position group that is a need, (Captain Obvious I know)

Current weight is not a big deal. Like said earlier, a lot of kids who are heavy have a lot of bad weight. Kids who have a lot of good weight are usually highly rated 3 stars or better.

Sacks, forced fumbles, blocked passes, blocked punt, catches touchdowns from TE position.
Think I will trust Rhoads & Co if we offered this guy. Let's get him.

Well that pretty much confirms that CPR and staff are recruiting him based on his raw athletic ability. They can then add some good weight to his 6'4 frame and get a solid rush end out of the deal.

Suttles would have been nice and was probably much more ready to play but I think Madison can be pretty good after a year or two.

I agree, getting some good weight onto a 6'4" frame while maintaining athletic ability will make for a nice player. I can't watch the video at work here, does he look like he is fast off the ball from an end position? We have plenty of guys who can play the strongside D-End position, but what we are missing is a rush end to sack the qb.

Athletic, gets off blocks well, good acceleration. I personally like this guy about the same as I did Suttles, but Suttles would have been coming in with a better Big 12 body for a defensive end

I am in agreement. Justin Madison appears to have the talent and ability; but it likely will take 2 (or maybe 3 years) to get his weight up to adequate size. Suttles would have only taken 1 year.
