That's exactly what I was thinking. If that's the case, screw the big 12. If they want to write us a check equal to the benefits we could get from hosting home games in this tournament, fine, we'll refuse the invitation if given.
We're poor. If we get an invite, we take it.
To answer my own question, Oregon State was in the field last year at 13-16. So I guess record isn't overly important, as long as you're CLOSE to .500.
And the games are held at participant's venues.
Screw all of you. I am counting on winning a bunch straight and winning the big 12 championship and matching up with Syracuse as the 15th seed and they will be the 2 seed.
True that. Between the NCAAs, NIT, and CBI, 113 D1 basketball teams make postseason play. If you coach in one of the "BCS conferences" (73 schools) but can't get your team in the top third of D1 basketball (113 postseason schools, 347 total schools in D1,) you don't deserve to have a job in my opinion.FML if we can't even get into the CBI.
No way you accept a bid to the CBI. It is the basketball equivalent of the Boise Bowl. Nothing good can come from it.

How well did it work for Drake last year? I know financially it doesn't make sense. This isn't football where you get 3 weeks of practice. Try a couple days. I think it would be an embarrassment to ISU.
Have you seen the last 4 years of mbb?
I say anything at all that has us playing more is a good thing.
OK, thanks for clarifying. I would say if we beat Texas they would want us. IMO we should take it because of the practice.
