Typically not hard but this year isn't typical. KU and MU are on opposite sides of the bracket so their fans will eat up most of the tickets. ISU fans also are a massive draw so this is a perfect storm for ticket brokers and scalpers.
So I should get my tickets now?? Can't wait for this! I've seen 1 basketball game in Sprint and that was KSU vs. Southern Miss (back when I thought I was going to KSU). Really looking forward to having a good time in the P&L District after a win as well!
Can someone explain to a total noob how this works? You buy a ticket that is good for the whole tournament and then sell them if your team loses?
I would like to know because IF our team is still playing on 3/10 or maybe even 3/9 I would plan to head down there but want to know how this system works. Thanks

When I used to go on a more regular basis, prior to kids, we would buy the first session game and then if we won, we would scalp tickets for the next game. Typically from people who bought all sessions passes and their team just lost to us.
Normally you will be able to find tickets for Thursday's games. However, this year complicates things a little bit because Kansas State and Kansas will likely be on one-side of the bracket with Missouri and Iowa State on the other. If that happens then all bets are off. The Semi-final tickets (Friday's Games) are always the most expensive. When Kansas and Kansas State have been involved in the past those tickets will easily go for $150-$250 a piece. Can't even imagine how giddy the scalpers will be if Kansas is playing Kansas State and Missouri is playing Iowa State on Friday night.
Lower Levels are face value of $340.00 a book. However, most ticketbrokers including Stubhub and Ebay are selling even bad lower level tickets at $600-$700 a book.
Anything between the baselines in the Lower level will likely cost you over $1,000.00 per book.
Upper levels you should be able to get for approximately $350-$500 per book. But just beware the Sprint Center is pretty steep. The upper levels seats are a considerable distance from the court.

No, unless things have changed there are never tickets available through ISU (for students or otherwise) other than the top donor/season ticket holders. Those tickets are all all-session tickets too, you can't ever buy single session tickets through ISU and they're always sold out well before they would sell them to the general public or students.
The problem this year is that the first session will be comprised of Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, Texas A&M and Texas Tech. None of those fan bases are making the trip up to Kansas City on a Wednesday unless they are sticking around for the whole tournament.

Too bad A&M doesn't care about basketball. I'm pretty sure they were picked to finish first or second in the conference. That might've been enough for a couple fans to grab some tickets.
