With Bridget Carleton signed with the Lynx and Stephanie Soares signed with Dallas we only have Ashley Joens with an outside chance to make a roster. Anyone seen if Joens got a training camp invite from anyone? Would seem if she did get an invite she'd be here in the USA getting acclimated to the 7 hour time change. Going with she didn't get one considering the league and team she was playing in Italy wasn't very good and she wasn't like any sort of league leader or anything. Think their season is close to being over. Weird that they play only one game a week.

Key Dates:
  • April 15: WNBA Draft
  • April 28: Training Camp Begins
  • May 3: Pre-season Games Begin
  • May 12: Last Possible Date for Pre-Season Games
  • May 13: Final Roster Cut-down Date
  • May 14: Regular Season Begins
Ashley's name has not come up on the WNBA transactions list yet, but hopefully

Ashley's European season at Dinamo Sassari ended with a loss at San Martino on Saturday - they had a "win and you're in" playoff scenario but came up short, 78-73. She played 30 minutes but only took five shots, making 3. She also had five turnovers.

I had a tenderloin the other night and she's scheduled to be home today, 4/25. As of Tuesday night, she didn't have a WNBA Training Camp Invite.

The Aces are giving her a Championship ring and she's going with them on their White House visit so that's a possible landing spot.

Saw that somewhere, maybe here, that she was getting a ring. That's pretty generous as she played only two games and 7 total minutes for them. Still, a nice trophy piece for the display cabinet someday.

ISU WBB made a 23 minute video on Stephanie Soares' comeback from her ACL tear. I haven't watched it yet, but definitely plan to.

Wow! Definitely worth the time to watch. For the staff and the University to put the time and money into Stephanie's rehab when she'll never play another game in a Cyclone uniform says something about caring for the person and not just the player.

Steph deserves it. She gave us something so special in that brief season we are so lucky she came. She's a class act and likely a Clone for life. She will be fun to watch in the pros and maybe coaching afterward. Bless her.

Cyclone Stephanie Soares played her first game, albeit just exhibition, tonight for Dallas. A rather inauspicious first outing, 4 minutes with no pts or rb.

Carleton and the Lynx played Wednesday with Bridget tabbing 20 minutes, 12 pts 2 rb 2 ast.

Will be interesting if Soares makes the team. She barely played last night and Dallas has to cut 5 players. They looked pretty deep with post players too I thought. Always the possibility a team in need of post depth could trade for her or sign her if she gets cut.
